Story
Name: Lea Age: 2 Years  Breed: Newfoundland  Gender: Female Meet Lea   Lea is a beautiful, large-breed girl weighing approximately 84 pounds. She has a sweet expression and a gentle presence that shines through once she feels comfortable and secure. *Personality & Temperment* Lea is a loving, loyal, and gentle dog who thrives on companionship and routine. While she can be cautious in new situations, she has made progress in foster care and continues to gain confidence every day. She is calm and quiet in the home, rarely barks, and enjoys relaxing near her people. *Likes:*   * Spending time with her people * Walks and exploring * Treats and mealtime * A predictable routine *Energy Level:*   Lea has a moderate energy level and still has some puppy in her! She enjoys daily walks and outdoor time but settles nicely in the home and appreciates a calm environment. *Interactions with People:* Lea is affectionate, forms strong bonds with her family, and has done well with children. She may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does, her sweet personality shines. *With Other Pets:*   Lea is still building confidence around other dogs and will benefit from continued positive-reinforcement training to help her feel more comfortable. She is always excited to see other pups and wants to play!  *Home & History:*   Lea came into rescue with little known about her past. Since entering foster care, she has decompressed beautifully, is eating well, responding nicely to her foster family, and has shown improvement on leash. She is well-mannered in the home and continues to blossom with consistency and patience. *Ideal Home:* Lea would thrive with a patient family committed to continuing her training and confidence-building. Because of her size, she would do best with adopters comfortable handling a large dog. In return, Lea will be a loyal, loving companion who is ready to become a cherished member of the family!! Is Lea the perfect addition to your family?!   Apply now at eastcoastcaninerescue.org !!July 19, 2026, 9:12 pm

Story
Millie came from a Newfie breeder that had a female get out of the yard while in heat for about 30 minutes. She bred her to another Newfie but when the pups were born something wasn't right. She DNA tested her and she has golden retriever and bloodhound in her as well as newfie. So she turned to us for help placing them in loving homes. We still have 3 girls available and they were born on Feb 19. Millie has the most perfect eyes! And she is definitely a poser. She can be prissy but she can also play hard! She also loves the water. If you are looking for a gentle giant that loves affection and water, Millie is your girl. She is UTD on all required vaccines and is microchipped.
