Story
Maggie thinks her nick name of Maggie Beana Beana Beans is just fun and it makes her wiggle.  She was born about June 10, 2015 and weighs about 100 lbs.  She has never been off leash as she lived on a very busy road.  Maggie has SEVERE skin allergies and has for some time - she has suffered long.  Her owner couldn't afford allergy testing and so the vet she saw simply put her on steroids.  Then the owner became ill and realized she could no longer physically care for her and felt the best thing for Maggie was to give her up so she could get the care she needed.  Sadly, when she contacted the large humane society in her area she was told she'd be euthanized.  Although Joyful Rescues isn't the one with deep pockets.....we do have a deep commitment to help a domestic companion if we possibly are able and we are often able due to the unwavering kindness and generosity of so many of our supporters and followers. We sent Maggie to the dermatologist and tried various she was prescribed various drugs.  Maggie will never regrow her hair because of damage to the hair follicles.  The good news is most of her irritation and odor has been resolved.  Maggie will live out the rest of her years here at Joyful as a sanctuary dog where she loves to meander through the 8 fenced acres at a snail's pace, go for a wade in the pond, then nap in the sunroom or on warm days lounge on the deck soaking in the sun.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_n/a Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
