Story
Location: Linden, AB // Age: Approx 5 Years Old // Weight: 15lbs // Sex: Spayed Female // Energy Level: Medium // Dogs: Yes // Cats: Untested // Kids: Yes, older dog savvy kids // Some love stories aren’t romantic… they’re legendary. Bonnie and Clyde have been side-by-side for a very long time, and they intend to keep it that way. They play together, nap together, explore together, and yes — occasionally bicker like siblings who have shared one toy for too many years. But at the end of the day, you’ll always find them curled up close, fast asleep, perfectly content as long as they’re together. These two are equal parts adorable chaos and heart-melting sweetness. Clyde is the tiny, busy, hilarious one. He bounces through life with enthusiasm, loves a good game of tug with Bonnie, and has the classic bold chihuahua personality that makes you laugh daily. He’s still learning his manners and would do best in a home that understands small dogs with big opinions and is happy to continue his positive, force-free training. He can be a bit particular about food and “his” favourite sleeping spots, and he sometimes gets nippy when he’s overly excited — all things that are improving with structure and consistency. He’s crate trained, mostly house trained, good in the car, and happiest when Bonnie is nearby. Bonnie is the social butterfly of the duo. She adores people, is curious about the world, and brings a lovely balance to Clyde’s antics. She loves toys, fetch, chew sticks, and of course, tug of war with her partner in crime. Bonnie is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash (even if she does a few happy circles), and settles beautifully when left alone. She prefers people over other dogs and can be protective of food, so mealtimes need a little management — something she’s already learning in foster care. Together, they are endlessly entertaining. Watching them play tug is like watching a comedy show, and their nighttime routine of choosing beds near each other is guaranteed to melt your heart. Bonnie and Clyde are looking for a home that: *Understands and appreciates bonded dogs. *Is committed to continuing their training using positive reinforcement. *Has older, dog-savvy children or adults. *Is happy to manage feeding routines and continue working on manners. *Will keep them together, always. They have so much love to give and so much personality to share. If you’re ready for double the laughter, double the cuddles, and double the charm, Bonnie and Clyde are ready to steal your heart — together. Combined adoption fee: $850. Story
Location: Airdrie, AB // Age: Approx 9 months // Size: Approx 15lbs // Energy Level: High puppy energy // Sex: Spayed female // Dogs: Yes // Cats: Not Tested // Kids: Not Tested but older dog savvy kids are likely okay // **Meet Fifi 💕** Fifi is a playful, goofy puppy with a heart full of love and the cutest little underbite you’ve ever seen. When she’s happy, she looks like she’s smiling—and it’s impossible not to smile back. She’s still very much a baby, learning how the world works, and she’s looking for a patient, dog-savvy home that’s ready to help her continue building confidence. 💕Fifi is a high-energy puppy who *lives* to play—especially with other dogs. Having a confident canine friend around her size is a must for her. She takes comfort in following their lead, plays endlessly, snuggles up with them, and gains confidence just by having them nearby. A home with another playful dog will help her thrive. 💕She can be shy and skittish at first, especially with handling, being picked up, or new experiences like leashes and car rides. She’s currently learning that harnesses and walks are nothing to fear and will need continued positive, force-free training at her own pace. Treats, patience, and gentle encouragement are the way to her heart. Once she feels safe, she seeks out affection and truly enjoys being petted. 💕Fifi is crate trained and sees her kennel as her safe space—she happily runs into it at mealtimes and sleeps through the night. She is now house trained in her foster home and should catch on quick in her forever home. She’s a smart girl and already picking up on routines just by watching her dog friends. 💕She does show some resource guarding with high-value items, which has improved significantly with management and positive reinforcement. Continued guidance and appropriate introductions with new dogs will be important. 💕One important thing to note: Fifi has an underbite, which gives her extra charm—but it also means her teeth should be monitored at her annual veterinary exams to ensure her dental health stays on track. It doesn’t slow her down one bit, and it certainly adds to her unique personality. 💕Fifi would do best in a calm, patient home with: * At least one friendly, small, playful dog * A positive-reinforcement approach to training * Time and understanding to let her come out of her shell * Mental and physical enrichment to match her puppy energy 💕With love, structure, and the right canine companion, Fifi is going to grow into a joyful, devoted dog. She’s still learning, still gaining confidence, and still figuring out how wonderful life can be—but she’s ready to do it with her forever family. 🐾💖 If you'd like to chat with our team about meeting Fifi, please complete an application: https://www.ruffstartanimalrescue.com/dog-application-form
