Meet Amber
Amber is a gorgeous 5-month-old wire-haired little girl weighing just 13 lbs. She looks to be a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix, although we don’t know who her parents are. Despite her young age, Amber is considered full grown and is the perfect little size.
Amber had a home of her own, but sadly, once she outgrew the “cute puppy” stage, her previous owner decided they no longer wanted her. She was surrendered to our rescue and, thankfully, is now safe and loved in a foster home.
When Amber arrived, she was covered in fleas and ticks. She has come a long way since then and is now showing everyone what a fun, happy, spunky little dog she truly is!
Amber is playful, entertaining, affectionate, and full of personality. She loves her toys, loves to play, and absolutely loves being around her people. She is very much a Velcro dog and prefers not to be left alone for long periods. Her ideal family will have plenty of time and love to give her and enjoy having a little shadow following them around.
She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has been introduced to kitties with no issues. Amber has also met her foster family’s grandchildren and happily runs and plays with them. She would make a wonderful companion for a family with children.
Amber is currently working on her house training and crate training, so her new family should be prepared to continue helping her learn. She is smart, eager to please, and still very much a puppy, so she’ll benefit from patience, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement.
One of Amber’s especially charming qualities is that she doesn’t seem to shed much, making her an even more appealing little companion.
Amber would love an active home where she can run, play, explore, and be included in family life. If you’re looking for a fun-loving little dog who will keep you smiling and happily be by your side, Amber may be your girl.
Amber is ready for the forever home she deserves — one that will love her through every stage of her life, not just the puppy stage.
Amber is current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, and current on de-wormer.

This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast.
The adoption fee listed ($795) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast.

We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is the best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure they are the perfect fit.
