Story
Meet Winter! – The Bouncy Bundle of LoveThis sweet and affectionate little dog loves human companionship and is always eager to say hello! She’s easy to leash and harness, enjoys being handled, and happily visits multiple staff and volunteers in the yard. Her loose, wiggly body language shows just how playful and energetic she can be.She thrives during zoomies in the yard, often bouncing around and sometimes jumping up for attention. She can be a bit mouthy or jumpy when overstimulated, so a calm, patient adopter is ideal. Harness walks are recommended, and while she may pull a bit at first, she’s generally cooperative once out and about. She’s curious about other dogs, though overstimulation can occur, and she may display stiffness or raised hackles when observing them. For this reason, careful dog introductions at the shelter are recommended before adoption. She has not shown interest in toys or treats, but responds well to praise and human attention. This playful, loving pup is looking for a home that can match her energy, provide guidance, and give her plenty of affection. With the right family, she’ll bring lots of joy, wiggles, and love to every day.

Story
15/02/26 09:59 MHFen is healing from prior fractures to his right front leg that occurred before arriving at San Jose Animal Care and Services. He has received veterinary care and is healing well with good bone callus formation; his splint and cone were removed on 2/11, and he is now cleared for leash walks beyond the courtyard (no running yet). While he is recovering appropriately, he may have a mild chronic limp, slight gait changes, or visible thickening of the leg, and future arthritis, stiffness, or discomfort are possible. No guarantee can be made regarding long-term mobility, and any future care related to this injury will be the adopter’s responsibility.Behaviorally, Fen bonds quickly—often attaching strongly to one person—and did well in foster with children, was easy to potty train, and gentle with food and treats. He can be cautious with some men and new experiences but shows friendly interest in other dogs and no general dog reactivity. He may know “sit,” has good energy on leash, and will benefit from continued structure, positive reinforcement, and gradual exposure as he builds confidence.01/16/26This sweet dog bonds quickly and shows strong attachment to one special person. He did wonderfully with foster kids, was gentle with meals and treats, and learned potty training in less than 24 hours! While he may show some selective guarding, he responds well in a stable, familiar environment. He would thrive in a patient home where he can continue building trust and confidence with his adopter.01/05/26 15:06Approximately 1 & 1/2 year old neutered male shepherd mix dog who presented as a suspect hit-by-car emergency. P fractured his radius and ulna bonese in his right front leg. P has started to consistently chew his splint off despite attempts at prevention. He was in foster for ~ 1 week recently and was reported not to both his splint when out in foster/out of shelter. See separate foster memo. P in need of urgent rescue.

Story
&#226&#156&#168 Meet Chanel, a 2 year old shepherd mix  &#226&#156&#168   Just as her name implies, Chanel is a high-quality dog- beautiful, affectionate, and truly special inside and out. She’s not just a pretty face though, Chanel is incredibly intelligent and sweet too   She thrives on companionship, loves cuddles and praise, and enjoys quality time with her humans. She has a lovely balance of playful energy and calm, settle-down moments that make her a joy to have around.   Despite a rough start in life, Chanel has shown remarkable resilience. After being abandoned and living in difficult conditions, she still greets the world with love and an eager heart. In foster care, she’s made impressive progress in a short time — learning basic commands like sit and stay, and showing herself to be crate trained, potty trained, easily redirectable, and very treat-motivated. Training with Chanel is fun, rewarding, and full of tail wags.   Chanel gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home committed to continuing her training and helping her build confidence. Since she’s still working on impulse control around food, supervision with young children is recommended. Overall, she’s an adaptable, loving girl ready to form a deep bond with her future family.   Chanel has a sister, Nova, who is also seeking her forever family. Chanel is available for adoption either with Nova or on her own — and she would love nothing more than a safe, loving home to call her own.   If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a truly special spark, Chanel may be the perfect match.    Please reach out to One Planet Rescue to learn more about adopting Chanel.     Already fallen in love?
