Story
Pebble here Breed: Papillon/Chihuahua MixAge: 1.5 yearsGender: Male    Weight: 15.5 lb  Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, social Once upon a time, life felt confusing and unfair. The person who was supposed to care didn’t always choose kindness, especially in public places. Thankfully, compassionate animal lovers stepped in, spoke up, and made sure safety came first. That’s how this new chapter began. Six months were spent in boarding, waiting patiently and learning that better days were ahead. For the past two months, a foster home has been my safe place — especially because there’s a human kid there who has become my very best friend. Time together is the highlight of every day. Despite the rough start, love for people never faded. New humans are exciting, and meeting them usually means rolling over for belly rubs (yes, even strangers get the full tummy display). Being petted, lifted, cuddled, and included makes life feel complete. Other dogs? Love them! Big or small, new friends are greeted with a happy approach and an invitation to play. No guarding of toys or food, no aggression — just good intentions and wagging energy. Cats haven’t been met yet, so that introduction is still to come. Energy level is nicely balanced: outdoor adventures and curious sniffing walks are wonderful (sometimes enthusiasm leads to a bit of leash pulling, but guidance is followed well). After exploring, settling down calmly at home feels just right. Rarely bark, no desire to escape, comfortable in a crate, about 90% housetrained, and car rides are no problem at all. The past may have had dark moments, but the heart stayed bright. Now just waiting for a forever family to share cuddles, adventures, and plenty of belly rubs. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. ##2658878##

Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped, and undergoing treatment for heartworm. 2.) Rescue Story * Moonji was living in a yard in Gimje. Unfortunately, as the elderly owners’ health declined, the dogs were left without proper care for a long time. Adogs gave the grandparents some time to say goodbye to their beloved dogs before safely rescuing Moonji along with five other dogs. 3.) Basic Information * With People: Is a little shy and tense around strangers at first, but quickly warms up if offered treats. Accepts human touch well. * With Dogs: Is not very interested in other dogs and prefers spending time alone. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown, as he currently lives in a group setting at our center. * Potty Training: Currently does only outdoor pottying since he resides at our center. * Walks: When he feels uncomfortable, he might get stubborn and stop walking, but most of the time, he follows his handler well. * Car Sickness: Travels well in the car without motion sickness. * Biting: Is usually very gentle, but may mouth a little bit if you try to touch him forcefully. Doesn’t show aggression. * Barking: Is quiet; doesn’t bark or whine. * Likes: Loves treats! Even when shy, treats help him open up and respond well to training. * Dislikes: Becomes cautious and uncomfortable with loud noises or when held forcefully. Is uncomfortable when strangers approach him.
