Story
This is Edmund, a Papillon - Chihuahua mix.   This 2-year-old has had a rough start in life, but you’d never know it from the quiet hope in his eyes. Edmund is gentle, sensitive, and still learning that the world can be a safe place. He may be a little shy at first, but with time and kindness, his sweet personality begins to shine through in the most heartwarming ways. Edmund is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace. He’ll need someone who understands that trust takes time—but the reward is a deeply loyal and loving companion. If you have a peaceful environment and a big heart, Edmund could be the perfect little dog to grow alongside you. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter. If the dog is not old enough, you will be given a voucher for Animal Medical Center in Emmett to cover the cost of the spay or neuter. Please fill out an application if you are interested in this dog or call us today for more information.         Because we are an all-volunteer organization, please call ahead to schedule a time for a Meet & Greet so we can ensure a dog handler is available to show you the dog or dogs you are interested in.         Pet Adoption League  1526 N. Story
Dorito' s adoption is pending. He is getting a chance to see if he will work out with a prospective adopter. They took advantage of our Foster - to - Adopt program to give him a try in their own home. Meet Dorito! He is an approximately 2 years old  Papillon - Chihuahua mix.    Dorito is a small dog with a big heart who came from a situation that wasn’t the kindest start to life. Because of that, he can be a little unsure at first, taking his time to understand that the world can be safe and gentle. Beneath that cautious exterior, though, is a sweet and loyal companion who just wants to feel secure and loved. With a soft voice, a calm environment, and a little patience, Dorito begins to show his true personality—one that’s full of quiet affection, trust and playfulness. He’s looking for someone who can offer him that second chance—a loving, patient home where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace. Dorito doesn’t need perfection; he just needs someone willing to meet him where he is and celebrate the small victories along the way. In the right hands, he’ll blossom into a devoted friend, ready to start his next chapter with someone who sees just how special he really is. This is what the foster mom wrote about him: I’m Dorito. I’m a happy young guy. My foster mom says I am super smart and I learn quickly. My first few years of my life were rough and I didn’t have much human contact. So I am a bit shy at first and am still learning it’s OK to be loved. I smile a lot and want to be wherever my people are. I will happily lie next to you in the kitchen or your office chair; I just want to be near my person. I am not yet a cuddler, but I think I will be soon. I am learning it is nice to be loved on. I am also learning it’s OK to be picked up, but I like to be asked first. I learned quickly to walk on a leash. And I am doing great with potty training. I sleep soundly in my crate through the night. I can spend time in my crate, home alone, without any issues. The crate is one of my safe places. I don’t yet play much with toys because I never had any before. I ride great in the truck and will be a fabulous travel companion. I am an awesome little guy who will bring smiles to your face and love into your heart and home. Because he is in a foster home, please call ahead to schedule a time to meet him.         Pet Adoption League  1526 N.
