🐾❤️ SPECIAL GIRL LOOKING FOR A SPECIAL HOME ❤️🐾This sweet girl didn’t get the beginning she deserved. She was dumped by her owner, left behind without understanding why. But despite everything, she still wants one thing more than anything else: to be close to her people. 🥺❤️She is deaf, but please don’t mistake that for something that makes her any less amazing. She simply experiences the world a little differently. She will need a patient, understanding family willing to learn how to communicate with her and help her feel safe and confident.And when we say she wants to be close… we mean CLOSE. 😂❤️ If you have a lap, she plans on occupying it. If you’re sitting on the couch, she’s coming with you. Personal space? She has absolutely no idea what that means—and she hopes you don’t either!Her perfect home will understand that special-needs dogs sometimes need a little extra patience, consistency and love. Murphy came to us from a local animal control due to the sudden and terrible passing of his dad. He was so upset he was lashing out at everyone. He was a scared little guy. He wants everyone to think he is a big mean dog...when in all actuality he is a sweet loveable little guy with a huge need for attention. He is best being an only dog, but has been ok with several others here as long as they have enough room to give each other space. He doesn't mind cats. He will need someone that understands small dog scare tactics :) He was adopted several years ago and returned due to his adopter being unable to care for him any longer. He is now a toothless semi senior guy looking for his perfect retirement home. ##623222##

Meet Ozzy! Ozzy is one of those dogs who can walk into a room and instantly make it better! He's sweet, goofy, and has a personality that's impossible not to love. He's always ready for some attention, a little fun, and plenty of affection. Ozzy is hoping his next adventure is finding a family who will love him as much as he deserves. If you're looking for a lovable goofball with a big heart, Ozzy might just be your guy!  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop  ##2836880##
