Story
Hey, hooman! ARROOOO! ARROOOO! Did I get your attention?
My name is Snape and I am an 11 year young, male, purebred Papillon who is ready to find his forever home and hooman. I weigh about 25lbs and I am black with some white in color.
When I first arrived at Golden Paws, it was directly from a breeder situation. I was frightened of just about everything and everyone. But, as time went on, with patience, love and understanding, the nice people here showed me that there was no longer anything to be afraid of. Little by little, I came out of the physical corner of the rescue I had picked out for myself. Gradually, as I got to know the individuals and that they are here to take care of me, I looked forward to them dropping by.
I also realized something else; I HAD A VOICE! Whereas before, I didn’t make any sounds, I now had a little howl when I want something. ARROOOO! ARR0000! Nothing obnoxious. Just a loveable howl to say “I have a voice, and I’m not afraid anymore.!” If I need a hooman, or something from a hooman, all I have to do is cut loose. I’ve heard the people here say that it’s really cute.
I have also come to realize that certain people here are good for cuddles and free pets. When I see them, I start bouncing around all over the place. If someone will adopt me who has love and patience, I believe they will find they will have themselves a genuine velcro dog.
Like a lot of former breeder dogs, I had very bad teeth when I arrived here. I went to the veterinarian for treatment and, unfortunately, he had to remove all of them. However, all of that is behind me, and I have healed up nicely. All I ask is that my dog food be the soft kind.
So what do you say? I think I would be a perfect dog for someone who’s at home a lot and just needs a companion. I have had all my shots, I have been neutered, and I’m ready to go. So fill out an application and come on in for a visit. I’m the velcro dog in training you’ve waited your whole life for. I hope to see you soon in Joplin.
