Story
Jasmine (born: 3/20/2012) is 22 pounds. DNA revealed that Jasmine, is 50.2% Papillion, 22.3% Pembroke Welsh Corgi, 19.7% Chihuahua and 7.8% Pekingese. A social worker advised the Society that there was a little dog in need. Her owner could not take care of her anymore, as she herself would be going into the hospital and not coming home. Because the woman was critically ill, she was not able to look after this little dog properly and Jasmine needed medical attention. We agreed to take the dog in. After an extensive medical workup, Jasmine was available for adoption Jasmine is selective with her friends, but if you approach with gentleness and patience, you might just pass her exclusive friendship test! Once you’re in, get ready for a lifetime of love and loyalty. She adores leisurely walks, being pampered, and basking in admiration. She may not be a fan of cats or kids, but for the right human(s), Jasmine will be a loving companion. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Story
Marina Moscone is a 2-year-old mixed breed weighing around 14 lbs. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she shows her sweet, affectionate side and loves following her person from room to room. She enjoys being close and quietly taking in everything around her. During the day, Marina likes to lounge on her crate and soak up gentle pets, very much like the little princess she is. She’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who can give her the time she needs to adjust and help her learn that the world is a safe and happy place. Approved adopters interested in Marina can email adopt@hbrdogs.com for more info. If you’re not approved yet, apply today at hbrdogs.com.

Accepts human touch well. * With Dogs: Is not very interested in other dogs and prefers spending time alone. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown, as he currently lives in a group setting at our center. * Potty Training: Currently does only outdoor pottying since he resides at our center. * Walks: When he feels uncomfortable, he might get stubborn and stop walking, but most of the time, he follows his handler well. * Car Sickness: Travels well in the car without motion sickness. * Biting: Is usually very gentle, but may mouth a little bit if you try to touch him forcefully. Doesn’t show aggression. * Barking: Is quiet; doesn’t bark or whine. * Likes: Loves treats! Story
Diana is about 5 years old and appears to be a Mini Aussie and Papillon mix. She currently weighs 17 pounds and should be closer to 10, so she’s on a healthy diet in her foster home and already making progress. She’s a very sweet girl who truly loves her people and enjoys the company of other dogs. She can be a little unsure of men at first and will bark at strangers, but she warms up with a little patience. Her first night in foster she chose to hide, which tells you she takes a moment to feel safe. Once she does, she’s absolutely lovely and very devoted. Diana is pad trained, has a healthy appetite, and is learning how to play with toys. She’s starting to discover how fun they can be and it’s been a joy to watch. She also has an adorable habit of rolling onto her back when she’s happy and comfortable. Diana would do best with someone who understands that she may need a little time to settle in. In return, you’ll get a gentle, affectionate companion who bonds deeply and loves with her whole heart. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.
