Story
Sparkie is a Rat Terrier estimated 6-8 years old , 24 lbs. He is Neutered,up to date on vaccines and fully treated for Heartworm and continues with prevention. He is a fun little guy ,full of spark as his name suggests who loves to play with his favourite ball or game of tug on a rainy day inside. He walks well on leash and loves to explore on walks. He can be leash reactive but if the other dog isn’t ,he is great to meet and has several dog friends in his current neighbor hood.He can be an only dog but is also fine with other dogs in the home provided they too are respectful. He does not care for cats.He is good with respectful kids as visitors but not recommended to live in a busy house with lots of people coming and going as he can be uneasy with chaos and crowds but he does love people. He has just the right amount of energy for play and walks but will easily settle when told to do so. He loves to spend the evenings curled up beside you,is house trained, sleeps peacefully through the night and never in a hurry to go potty in the mornings. He does well when left alone for 5-6 hours, longer is unknown but no destructive behaviour whatsoever. When alone he will curl up in your favourite chair and wait for your return and greet you with a happy bum wiggle. He does excellent in the car, is quiet and will sleep on longer rides. He is affectionate and loves to cuddle beside you, especially under a blanket or throw and is fun to watch him cover himself up when he’s ready to nap. He had been crate trained, could be again, although it hasn’t been needed ,he loves to sleep next to his favourite person. He loves deeply and loyally and protects fiercely and is a great little companion. He’s very food motivated, and has shown some resource guarding with high value human food, but not with his own food.He is smart and learns quickly with routines and will work for mere kibble. His weight needs to be watched as this breed gains weight easily but he loves snacking on veggies too. Grooming his short shiny coat is very low maintenance and he is cooperative while trimming nails as long as you know how to do it and is very comfortable during Vet visits. ##2411359##

Story
Meet Tigger — a sweet, soulful terrier mix with a long, lean build and an even bigger heart. This special girl has been through a lot and is ready to find the loving forever home she always deserved. Tigger is incredibly affectionate and bonds deeply with her people. She loves being close to her humans and will happily soak up all the love and attention you can give. She’s fully potty trained, enjoys short bursts of playtime, and has a curious little explorer streak — she may wander off to investigate, but she always comes back on her own. Tigger can get along with other dogs and even cats when introductions are done slowly and properly. However, she would truly thrive in a calmer home where she can be the center of attention. She can be a little possessive of her humans and has a bossy, herding-style personality at times — similar to a Heeler or Aussie — and may nip at other dogs to “put them in their place.” She has never been in a fight and does not show aggression, but because of her strong personality, Tigger would do best as an only pet or with just one calm, respectful furry companion. Tigger would also do best in an adult home or one with older children (12+), where her boundaries and need for a peaceful environment will be understood. Tigger was rescued from a difficult situation and tested positive for early heartworm disease. She is currently on a slow-kill treatment plan and will need continued monitoring and prevention. She previously received ProHeart 12 and will continue follow-up treatment as directed by her veterinarian. Tigger also takes Vetmedin to support healthy heart function, though she does not have heart disease. Because she is recovering, she needs restricted activity while undergoing treatment.   The only other requirement for her ideal home is a fenced yard, as she has a tendency to dart out the door if given the opportunity — which is also why an adult-only home would be the best fit for her. While we understand that not everyone has a fenced yard, it would provide her with the safest and most stress-free environment. That said, we are open to considering exceptions for the right home and family. Despite everything she’s been through, Tigger remains loving, loyal, and full of sweetness. She’s looking for a patient, caring home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of her life. If you’re searching for a devoted companion with a gentle spirit and lots of love to give, Tigger may be your perfect match. ##2366209##
