Story
Meet Peanut Peanut came to us from Yuma where he had earned quite a fan club. This very nice guy is estimated 9-10 years old and is 14/15 lbs. and stands 15" at the shoulder. Peanut is a laid back, mellow guy who is well behaved. He is not an excessive barker (except when crated) and has excellent house manners. Peanut has shown himself to be with good with people and other dogs. He is friendly but also enjoys time to himself. Peanut is well housebroken and has not had a single accident in his Tucson foster's home! Despite his long, lanky legs, Peanut is not a runner or a bolter. He walks nicely on a leash and looks forward to his leisurely walk around the block. Peanut had a dental while in rescue and has a nice set of teeth. He is also neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines and is healthy with no medications. Peanut is hard of hearing; he responds to a loud clap. For this reason thunder and other loud noises are probably not an issue with him. He has only mild vision issues. Peanut would be a great addition as a second (or third) dog to a household. The boy has learned to use the doggie door but he does not climb pet stairs and has little interest in getting up on the couch or the bed. He is most comfortable on the floor or ground where he enjoys his dog beds. He will typically nap the afternoon away. Peanut is not a lap dog,.and typical of his breed is fairly independent. He is mostly a quiet guy but occasionally he will talk to you (not bark) which may amuse you. Story
Dallas came to us from the Nogales shelter where he was at risk due to overcrowding. Dallas is around 5 years old now. This medium sized white cutie weighs in at around 24-25 lbs. and is just full of love and life. He is super active and loves attention. Dallas is a little apprehensive new situations and surroundings and will need time to adjust. He does not do well being forced to do things he doesn't like or doesn't know. He is mostly house trained and knows how to use the doggie door. Dallas crates up easily with a treat and tolerates being crated well. He can be vocal though if other dogs are around and not crated (hey! That's not fair!), but once settled in, he will remain quiet. Dallas walks nicely on leash. When in public settings, Dallas tends to be vocal initially but does settle down after he's been allowed to explore and meet other dogs. Dallas' favorite thing is to play with other dogs, regardless of size. He romps with Great Pyrenees and Chihuahuas, though he occasionally needs to be reminded that the little ones can't handle his intensity and energy. He is untested with cats, and considering his exuberant personality, we do not believe he would be good with cats. Dallas currently sleeps in his kennel all night without an issue. He has spent the night in his fosters' bed and enjoyed sleeping close to his people. He does have a slight palsy type tic around his front legs and feet. It does not affect him at all and is only noticeable when he is calm and relaxed. This came about after his neuter surgery and his new vet should be made aware of this in case of future need for anesthesia. TO APPLY )))) http://form.jotform.com/cherishedtails/dog-application
