Story
Cara is a four-year-old dog who originally belonged to my mom, who raised her from eight weeks old. Sadly, my mom passed away in June. Due to my moms disability, Cara was pad-trained, but she has been adjusting well to using a doggie door, with only occasional accidents. Cara is a true lap dog who loves cuddling and sleeping in bed with her person. I also have a large Rottweiler who, while not aggressive, is very jealous and can be rough during play. They do play at times, but his size and energy can be overwhelming for her, and she will sometimes retreat to hide under the bed or blankets for comfort. Because of this, I feel Cara would thrive best in a calm home where she can be the center of attention and ideally with someone who enjoys a loving, affectionate companion and will let her be the lap dog she is. This decision comes from wanting whats best for her and ensuring she has the peaceful, loving environment she deserves and will want to do a home visit

Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Sherman. An approx. 5-year-old neutered male JRT mix. Sherman is what we call a low rider due to his short legs, which doesn't stop him from jumping onto the couch to snuggle with his foster mom. Sherman has come a long way in the short time he's been with his foster family, but he is still cautious of new people and wary of men. Sherman was most likely not well socialized and needs someone who will show him patience and love as he continues to come out of his shell. He loves women and would most likely do best in a female only home and because he needs a quieter, slower paced environment, a home with children would not be an ideal situation. Sherman does love other dogs and has fun playing with his foster brother and sisters. He runs around the house wagging his tail, trying to get them to play. He really has a silly side that will come out even more as he learns to trust. He has a very JRT personality and at times tries to be bossy with the other dogs so dogs with a more submissive personality would be a better fit. Someone who has JRT breed experience is important as well. Sherman is crate trained and housebroken. He is fearful of walking on a leash, but we are working on making him more comfortable with it. He rides quietly in the car too. Overall, he is a very sweet, goofy little boy that just needs to find someone who will help him become more confident. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Kylo!   Kylo is a Miniature Pinscher (MinPin) mix and a wonderful little senior dog with so much love to give. He wasn’t socialized much in his earlier years, which made him very bonded to his person. Because of this, adjusting to life at the rescue—surrounded by lots of new people—was a challenge for him at first. With time, patience, and kindness, we’ve seen Kylo start to open up and show his sweet personality. However, he does not like men, most likely because his owner was a woman and that may have been the only person he was around. So, he will need a female only home.  He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys spending time with trusted people. Kylo would do best in a quieter home, without children, where he can feel safe, secure, and continue building confidence at his own pace. He also needs to be the only dog in the home, so he can soak up all the love and attention for himself. NO CHILDREN   &#226&#156&#168 About the Miniature Pinscher &#226&#156&#168 The Miniature Pinscher, often affectionately called the “MinPin,” is a small breed with a big personality! Here are a few traits that may shine through in Kylo:   Alert and spirited – MinPins are known for their bold, confident nature. Energetic – even seniors like Kylo often enjoy regular walks and playtime. Loyal and loving – they tend to bond closely with their people and thrive on companionship. Smart and curious – with gentle guidance, they are quick learners who enjoy mental stimulation.    Kylo may be a senior, but he’s still got plenty of love and life ahead of him.
