He can't wait to spend time with his person, whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard (his all-time favorite!), a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood, or cuddling up for a movie. Howie has lots of energy—but when the sun sets, he transforms into the ultimate cuddle buddy, content to snuggle up on the couch and bask in the warmth of your affection. He's a loyal and devoted friend, seeking a single owner or a loving couple who can reciprocate his love and provide him with the attention and playtime he craves. Housetrained and well-mannered, Howie is a dream companion in the home. He prefers to sleep on his cozy dog bed in the bedroom, and while he may not be a fan of long periods in a crate, his good behavior makes it unnecessary. When it comes to socializing, Howie is a pro, getting along famously with most dogs after a proper introduction and proving himself to be a gentle and patient playmate for children. He was around cats as a young pup, but hasn't been exposed to them in recent years, so we don't know how he would do with feline friends. Howie is looking for a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and play freely, as he's not a fan of being on a tie-out. He loves having his person accompany him outdoors during the day, but he's perfectly content to venture out on his own at night.
