Goober is wondering why no one is applying for him! To meet Goober, please submit the application at this link: https://form.jotform.com/41555257797165 Who loves a terrier personality! Goober is the guy for you! Bouncy, zoomy, and playful plus loves to sleep in bed under the covers! This breed description fits Goober's personality well even though he doesn't look like that breed: 'The Smooth Fox Terrier is a lively, gregarious terrier with a devil-may-care attitude.' We actually think he's something like a Boston Terrier/Patterdale Terrier mix. Age is estimated to be about 2-3 years and weighs about 25 lb Goober is boisterous, playful, cuddly, and loves to sleep in bed with you, preferably under the covers which makes him a great foot warmer in winter! Stuffed toys are delightful for shredding but he does not chew on furniture. If there's a squeaker in the toy, it's his mission to find and destroy the squeaker. Typical terrier personality. He needs a good romp around the yard or walks daily. He is in foster with other dogs and a cat but most of them really don't want to play with him (they are older and more laid back). If you want a lively, playful, smarty and goofy terrier and don't mind if he's also a good watchdog, Goober might be a match for you. He's a bit of a gazelle, so your fence needs to be 4' high or higher. He'll need some work on leash training. He is neutered and is due for booster vaccinations. Crate trained and mostly housebroken. He's fostered with senior humans who think he'd be a better fit for middle-aged adopters than seniors. His foster mom thinks he'd do REALLY well with obedience training and agility training. She thinks he'd have a blast doing agility. Probably not a good fit for young kids. Fostered in the Poconos near zip code 18330, you drive to us to adopt. To meet Goober, please submit the application at this link: https://form.jotform.com/41555257797165 Want to meet one of our dogs? Fill out this application: https://form.jotform.com/41555257797165 We use software to export to dozens of pet adoption sites. Each site has a different way to contact us. Unless you have a specific question about a dog, do not use their contact button/form as that does not put you in line to adopt. If you're seriously interested in adopting this dog, just head straight to our application linked above and fill it out. It's the best way for us to assess the match as a fit for you. All responses will be via email so please check your email several times over the next couple of days after contacting us. We do not adopt to cities or densely populated towns of over 30,000 inhabitants because our dogs come from rural areas and do not do well in crowded environments. Enlightened Elevated Rescue: here's how we roll: https://happydogrescue.wixsite.com/website/eel If you see this listing, we are accepting applications on this dog. Please read the entire listing before contacting us. We are not a shelter and do not have visiting hours, nor do we call the public who have not applied for a dog. All meetings are by appointment after your application is processed. Fees are listed on the application. You can either apply for a currently-listed dog or just to get on our advance notice list for incoming dogs. After you contact us, please check your email for our reply. Our process is: application, vet reference, home visit/meet-n-greet, then if everyone is in agreement, we can do the adoption. Adoptions are not first come/first served. We look for the best match for both dog and adopter. Full vetting history is provided with adoption paperwork. All dogs are altered, vaccinated, 4DX tested, wormed, and flea/tick treated prior to adoption. Our dogs are typically not fully housebroken as many come from outdoor living situations, so we start working on that as soon as they arrive. Most of your questions should be answered by reading the entire listing and looking at the application. Our dogs are fostered with 2 adult humans, resident dogs ranging in size from 12 lb to 45 lb and a dog-savvy cat. We are currently accepting owner surrendered dogs that meet this criteria: 25 lb or less, no signs of food/toy aggression with humans or dogs, already spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. To request a dog surrender, please go to this page on our site: https://happydogrescue.wixsite.com/website/surrendering-a-dog For additional information for adopters, please visit our website at https://happydogrescue.wixsite.com/website/info-for-adopters Our adoption screening process typically takes 24-72 hours. Adoption fees are listed on the application. Dogs are fostered in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania. Adopters drive to us to meet/adopt after your home visit and application processing are complete. We do virtual home visits via an app so you can see the dog in our foster home and ask questions about it prior to making the trip.
