Story
Rocky is the cutest little squish! This little guy is said to be 7-8 months old. He’s a Pekingese and he’s recently lost his home due to his human mom passing away. Rocky was a little shy at first. Who can blame him really? He got neutered and had surgery on his stenotic nares shortly after arrival, not exactly the welcome any of us would want. However, he’s quickly warmed up and is recovering quite nicely! Rocky does best with some canine companions in the home. He has a gentle and curious nature towards children and seems drawn to them. He is also cat friendly! Rocky is snuggly but independent and he’s on the quiet side. He’s crate trained and seems to be house trained, as well! Rocky is being fostered in Aurora, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/rocky/. Story
Meet Kisses, a lovely Pekingese girl (weighing in at 17 lbs) recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue. With a friendly and curious nature, she’s always ready to greet you with an open heart and a little wag of her tail. This sweet girl is eager to find her forever home and become your new best friend.Though she’s still adjusting to her new life, her warm personality is already shining through. Stay tuned as we continue to learn more about this sweet girl and watch her blossom into the loyal and loving companion you’ve been searching for!- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another dog in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardMeet Breezy, a 14-pound Pekapoo who is shy and cautious as she adjusts to her new world. Quick movements and loud noises startle her, and she’s still learning that humans can be gentle and kind. Breezy finds comfort in the company of more confident dogs and will need a calm, confident dog friend in her new home to help guide her and build her own confidence. She isn’t leash trained yet, so a fenced yard will be necessary to keep her safe as she learns and grows. Breezy is looking for a calm and patient home that can give her the time and love she needs to blossom into the secure and happy pup she’s meant to be. With a little guidance, she’ll be the sweetest addition to your family.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Meet Belle, an 8-pound Pekapoo who may be small, but her spirit is strong. Right now, Belle is still fearful of humans and cautious to trust, so she will need time to warm up to new people. However, when she finds a dog she likes, she confidently follows their lead, showing her desire to be part of a pack.Belle has a slightly deformed back leg that`s shorter than the others, but it doesn`t slow her down in the slightest. Her resiliency shines through, and with the right patient, calm environment, Belle is ready to come out of her shell and show the world her true self. She’s looking for a family that will offer her the time, love, and support she needs to thrive.- - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization.
