Don't let her tiny size fool you—Crackers is packed full of personality! This spunky little Pekingese loves being the center of attention and is happiest when she's soaking up affection from her favorite people. Whether she's following you around the house, keeping an eye on your daily activities, or curling up nearby for a nap, Crackers is always ready to be your loyal companion. Crackers has a micro eye, but it doesn't affect her vision or slow her down one bit. She also has keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), commonly known as dry eye disease, which requires daily eye medications to keep her eyes healthy and comfortable for life. She's a wonderful patient and takes her care routine in stride. While Crackers enjoys human companionship most of all, she would also do well with another calm, easygoing dog who matches her mellow pace. She's looking for a home where she can enjoy the simple things in life: cozy beds, loving attention, and a family to call her own. If you're searching for a sweet, spirited companion with plenty of love to give, Crackers may be the perfect addition to your family. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. He’s the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his people and appreciates a calm, patient approach as he settles into a new home. What He Loves • Walks: Exploring the neighborhood is one of his favorite ways to build confidence. • Dog friends: He gets along well with other dogs and especially enjoys the company of older, mellow canine buddies who match his gentle energy. • Routine: He sleeps comfortably in his kennel and finds comfort in predictable structure. His Ideal Home He’s still working on his potty training, so he’ll thrive with someone who has time, patience, and consistency to help him continue learning. A home that values slow introductions, positive reinforcement, and ongoing training will help him blossom into his best self.
