Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Avery! She is approximately 8 years old, 8.2 lbs currently and she may have some Pekingese in her mix! She joined our rescue from a breeder who was done with her. In her foster home, she is workking on her house training and no experience leash walking. She is used to being crated. She could join households with other dogs and teenagers. Cats are unknown. She is shy and needs someone who is patient and has experience with shy dogs. Her foster says, `Avery is very shy at first. She is a retired breeding dog (weaned her last set of pups about a month and a half ago). You can tell her previous owner did not hold her or love on her like most dogs in a home. She took about a week to really come out of her shell around me. I have had her 2 weeks tomorrow and she is already making a lot of improvements. She goes to her crate on her own during the day to nap or play with her toys. She will steal articles of clothing sometimes (socks, etc.) and run with them to her crate. She has not chewed up anything but it is like she is collecting things in her crate lol. She has done amazing with all of my dogs (my 3 are all females ranging from 12 lb to 65 lbs - my 3 are also all older and not very energetic). She will occasionally play a little with my 12 lb chiweenie. My chiweenie can have attitude sometimes for absolutely no reason. Avery does not even react back when the chiweenie is fussy with her (she only growls at her and has never snapped at her). She has gotten used to going in and out the back door on her own (she was scared at first). She comes to me tail wagging now but does take a little to warm up. She freezes when you pick her up and hold her. Given a little time to adjust, I think shewould make a great companion. I think she would do best with an older couple or single lady. Older kidswould be ok, but think she would do better in a calm home since she is older.`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on July 17th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities o

Story
Thimble may look like a tiny, shy little puppy in her pictures, but don't let the camera fool you. The moment the camera comes out, Thimble suddenly becomes bashful. Put the camera away, though, and she turns right back into the happy, spunky little puppy she really is. At around 3 months old and weighing only about 3 pounds, Thimble spends her days bouncing from dog to cat to dog, playing with everyone she meets. She gets the cutest little zoomies and approaches life with the joyful confidence that only puppies seem to have. She is a sweet little Maltese mix who gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Her tiny size makes her extra adorable, but she has enough personality packed into those 3 pounds to keep everyone smiling. Because of her young age and tiny size, Thimble has not yet been spayed. Her adopter will need to provide proof of spay in 2027 once she is old enough and large enough for the procedure. Good fit: someone looking for a tiny, playful puppy who will bring lots of fun, affection, and laughter into their home. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Due to her age and size, she has not yet been spayed. Adopter must provide proof of spay in 2027. Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, Think you might be a good fit?
