Meet Charlie – your new best friend in a fuzzy coat!
Charlie is a sweet, mellow 6-year-old pup weighing about 40 lbs, and he’s ready to find a loving home to call his own. He’s the perfect mix of gentle affection and easygoing independence, making him a great match for adults or families with older children.
From the moment he’s leashed up, Charlie is a joy to walk. He strolls calmly with minimal pulling, enjoying every pause to sniff and take in the world around him. Whether it’s a quiet lap around the shelter or a walk through the Bicentennial Garden, Charlie is a laid-back walking buddy.
He rides well in the car—though a little nervous at first, he quickly settles and relaxes. Wildlife doesn’t faze him. Charlie doesn’t react to squirrels, ducks, or birds, and he’s mostly indifferent to other dogs and people, though he occasionally likes to say a friendly hello.
Charlie’s manners are just as lovely as his personality. He’s treat-motivated, knows “sit” and “down,” and enjoys food puzzles and filled bones. He’s curious about toys and happy to share your space—snuggling close for love, then settling nearby on his own for some rest.
He’s polite during mealtime, calmly laying down once dinner is underway. Charlie rarely jumps, only doing so when he’s especially excited to be loved on, and he hasn’t had any accidents in a home. He’s a calm, loving companion who thrives in a peaceful environment and enjoys being close to his people.
