Story
Browny – Female, 5 years old, brown Persian. I traveled First Class all the way from overseas to find my kingdom. I hope I don’t have to do that again but I did get a lot of frequent flyer miles. I love people but other cats, not so much. My main goal is to find a home with staff that will attend to my needs and adore me. Just know that I have to be the Queen and would be purrfect for someone who can only have one cat or is looking for an older cat. Since I was in a foster home, I prefer a home to living in a shelter and having other cats take the attention away from me. I know, I’m missing some fur, but I was shaved because I had mats. Once my fur grows back, I’ll be gorgeous. My one wish is to have a cat tree so I can watch birds and squirrels outside to amuse me. Please fill out an application if interested in meeting me, I’m in Room 1.As always before adoption, all cats are spay/neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, given distemper and rabies vaccines if old enough, flea and dewormer treatments if necessary.

These cats are in Salem, Massachusetts too!

Story
Penny is a gorgeous long haired lady that came to us from a complicated 17 cat neglect situation. We actually thought she was older and more fragile than she really is, but after a few days of socializing, she showed us the REAL Penny and she’s such an energetic delight! She does have an independent royalty about her, but she’s also obsessed with laser pointers, exploring, touching every new object, and sunbathing in giant windows.   Please no young children or dogs, but cats of all types and personalities are okay! If you’d perhaps be interested in adopting TWO seniors from the aforementioned unpleasant situation, may we recommend Penny and her brother, Peter? They are not bonded, but would do well together!    Every PALS cat and kitten has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and is up-to-date on vaccinations. A note about kittens: if you are adopting a kitten, they may need to complete their FVRCP (distemper) series and may not be old enough for their rabies vaccination. These essential vaccines will be the responsibility of their new owner. Detailed vet records and a calendar of vaccination due dates will be provided. The PALS Adoption Center, located inside PetSmart at 10 Traders Way in Salem, MA (just off Highland Ave/Rte 107) BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TO APPROVED ADOPTERS.  Adoption applications can be found online at www.palscats.org.  A completed application is not necessarily an approved application. We do ask for written landlord approval if you rent, or proof of home ownership (water bill, etc.) We will also check your vet references.  You will be contacted by our adoption staff once your application has been approved.  Please note it can take up to 48 hours. Our online sites are updated regularly, but we can not guarantee that a cat you see here is still available. Please email if you have any questions regarding the adoption process or our available cats and kittens. PALS is an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue group. Each and every cat and kitten has been rescued locally. May 26, 2026, 12:54 pm
