Story
Oh my goodness.. if you have found this pet profile - do not go anywhere, you are going to want to read this!
Ruby, oh Ruby, what a delightful little lady you are!
This beautiful and incredibly sweet girl came to us suspected to be pregnant. Upon intake, our team was confident she likely was. Her belly was slightly extended and firm - not soft and squishy like a normal cat belly. Unfortunately, before a vet could officially confirm the pregnancy, her foster reported spotting and soon after her belly was back to being a normal, soft and squishy kitty belly. While we did not get a chance to medically confirm a pregnancy, we feel it is likely that she miscarried.
While sad, Ruby is known to have been a mommy in the past, and one heck of a good one. We never wish for a bad outcome of any kind, but are also silver-lining thankful that her days of having babies are over and she never has to go through it again and face the risks and complications associated with it.
What is amazing about this story is what happened immediately after. Ruby was placed in foster with another one of our adoptable babies, Oliver. They did not get rescued together, so no prior knowledge of one another. Oliver came to us with no socialization and was very fearful. As soon as he was introduced to Ruby, he fell in love and so did she! Ruby is a few years old while Oliver is a kitten. He said he would be her baby, and she happily took him in.
Now, you cannot hardly find these two apart from one another. Take a look through the photos - they are always cuddling! We would love to see them adopted together - A lucky family out there has an opportunity to adopt this insanely sweet and loving mama and her adopted baby.
