Story
This beautiful pair of kittens (Pongo & Patch) were brought to HSOV on October 21, 2025 after they were found in Marietta Ohio fending for themselves. They were estimated to have been 6-months old at that time. Pongo has a brown tabby/white longhaired coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a brown tabby cap on his head, nice ‘ear furnishings’, a pink nose, and long white whiskers. Patch has a dark brown tabby coat short smooth coat with a white chest, white paws, and an adorable face that will surely melt your heart. Patch is listed as a ‘Special Needs’ kitty since he has an ulcer in his right eye and is likely blind in his left eye. Patch's left eye may have to be removed. Pongo and Patch were neutered on November 3, 2025 and were also given rabies vaccine. Pongo weighed 5.2 lbs that day. Patch weighed 4.18 lbs. Pongo and Patch were given vaccinations, flea treatment, and Pyrantel wormer on November 6th 2025. They were given booster vaccines on November 22, 2025. We feel that it is in their best interest to remain together since Patch especially depends upon Pongo for security and companionship. This bonded pair of best friends/brothers are currently sharing a double-wide cage our Jungle Room and would love to find a fabulous home (together of course). Pongo & Patch are available for adoption or rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.

Story
Simba is a beautiful 3-year old male kitty who was brought to the HSOV on February 26, 2026 for a very sad reason because his mistress had passed away recently. Simba and his nine housemates (Babe, Cotton, Kiki, Peanut, Sweetie Bell, Tj, Ty, Yeller, and Zoey) were very much loved. They cannot understand why they lost the freedom of their home and are now in small cages while they wait for new homes of their very own. Simba has a buff tabby longhaired coat, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable face with large golden eyes, nice 'ear furnishings', a pink nose, and extra-long white whiskers. This handsome boy is very shy and has a sweet, friendly personality. Simba is understandably very confused as to why he is in a small cage all by himself. He tends to be a 'door dasher' when his cage door is open in an attempt to gain his freedom. Simba is good with other cats, children, and dogs. Simba was given vaccinations, flea treatment, and Drontal dewormer on February 28, 2026. He weighs 10.9 lbs. These photos were taken on March 19th 2026. Simba is currently enjoying a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room where most of our adoptable cats are housed. Simba has become more outgoing since we took his first photos, and he now comes running to the front of his cage for attention. Simba has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter immediately with an approved HSOV adoption application. Simba is ready to find another loving home with a special someone who will have the patience to let him acclimate to his new home on his own schedule (and realize that he might remain hidden until he feels comfortable/safe with his new person).

Story
Star Crunch is an adorable 8-week old male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on January 20, 2026 after he was found in Marietta Ohio. Star Crunch was reunited with his brothers (Honey Buns and Fudge Round) who had been brought to HSOV on January 6, 2026. These young 'Three Musketeers' shared a small cage and adopted the motto "all for one and one for all' (smile). Star Crunch has a dark brown tabby long-haired coat, a long ringed tail, and an adorable triangular-shaped kitten face with golden eyes, nice 'ear furnishings', a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Star Crunch was given vaccinations on February 12, 2026. Star Crunch has been given Pyrantel wormer, and he was given booster vaccines on February 27, 2026. Star Crunch and his brothers were a bit leery of people when they entered our shelter since they had been fending for themselves outdoors, but they soon realized they were among their new best friends. Star Crunch was neutered on March 9, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 4.8 lbs that day. These photos of Star Crunch were taken on March 9, 2026. Star Crunch was adopted on March 11, 2026.
