Fluffy is a beautiful 5-1/2 year old female kitty who was surrendered by her owner on April 18, 2026 for a very sad reason since he was no longer in a position to take care of Fluffy or Shadow (a 7-month old male Terrier mix puppy who was also surrendered to HSOV that day). Fluffy has a gray tabby longhaired coat, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable face with golden eyes, a gray velvet nose, a dusting of white on her muzzle, and extra-long white whiskers. This little sweetheart has a friendly, rather shy personality and is very lovable. Fluffy is good with dogs and also with children. Fluffy is not good with other cats Fluffy was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on April 29, 2026. Fluffy was spayed on May 4, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. She is a petite little lady who weighed 4.12 lbs that day, so her longhaired coat gives her the appearance of a much larger cat. Fluffy is ready to find a loving home with someone special who will make her feel like a fairy-tale princess again. Happy Update: Fluffy was adopted on May 8, 2026.

Shug is an adorable 2-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his tearful owner on April 10, 2026 because he could no longer keep Shug due to having a severe allergy to him (and had tried everything possible to find a solution). Shug was his soulmate, and we know that they were both heartbroken to have been separated. Shug has a brown tabby-and-white longhaired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes and nice 'ear furnishings', a white muzzle, a pink nose, and extra-long white whiskers. This handsome boy has a sweet, easygoing disposition and a quiet, docile personality. These photos of Shug were taken on April 21st, and he melted our photographer's heart when he remained in the corner of his large cage and quietly looked at the camera when she opened the cage door .. and was content to watch and listen as she carried on a soft one-sided conversation with Shug and told him what a good boy he was. Shug was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on April 23, 2026. Shug had previously been vetted at his owner's veterinarian clinic. Shug weighed 10 lbs when he entered our shelter. Shug is currently in a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room where most of our adoptable cats are housed. Shug will be neutered in the near future (tentatively on May 4th) and will soon be ready to find another home with someone who will love him as much as his previous owner did. Shug was taken for his neuter appointment on May 4, 2026. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with a 'kitty cold' that day (i.e., upper respiratory infection) and was unable to undergo surgery. He will tentatively be rescheduled in June 2026. Shug was neutered on May 20, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 9.6 lbs that day.

Aphrodite is a beautiful 1-1/2 year old female kitty who was surrendered by her family on May 5, 2026 along with her sibling (Medusa) because they had too many cats to take care of. This little sweetheart has a black-and-white longhaired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a pretty symmetrically-marked face with golden eyes, a pink nose, and extra-long eyebrows and whiskers. Aphrodite has a friendly, outgoing personality. She was understandably a bit shy for the first few days after her arrival, but Aphrodite quickly warmed up and showed us her super sweet disposition .. And she loves attention. Her family reported that Aphrodite is good with other cats and also with children. Aphrodite was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on May 8th 2026. She weighed 7 lbs that day. Aphrodite will be spayed in the near future and will soon be looking for a fabulous home. Update: Aphrodite was spayed on May 18, 2026 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7.2 lbs that day.
