RANCH DOGS OR SERVICE DOG PROSPECT!!!!!All dogs are located in southeast Arizona between Benson and Willcox Arizona. Please contact Carrie at fedwellfarm@yahoo.com or 602-316-8919 (no texts please) UPDATED PROFILE: Opal and Dusty have learned so much and come so far! A wonderful donor has offered up to $500 to help pay for a dog trainer to work with their adopter. WE WOULD ALLOW THESE DOGS TO A RANCH OR FARM HOME in order to keep them together. We normally do not allow outdoor only, but these two would really love to be together on a farm or ranch. Opal and Dusty have learned so much and come so far! These two wonderful dogs would also excel as service dogs. They are extremely loyal and want to desperately bond with their humans. They are extremely loyal and want to desperately bond with their humans. Both have been snake avoidance trained and actually did so well that the trainer was impressed, and they seem to have known about snakes instinctively. Opal and Dusty were scared kids picked up by animal control in New Mexico. When they arrived, we could not even catch them, they were so afraid. T They have come so far! They love their humans; they look forward to human contact and are absolutely the BEST ON THE LEASH!!!!! They go for long walks with the volunteer, and they are perfect. Once, the volunteer fell on the walk and the leashes were let go., Dusty and Opal stayed right with her and made sure the volunteer was okay and then waited for their leashes to be picked up and carry on with their walk. (The volunteer was not injured thankfully) Both of them are now 2 years old. They have filled out beautifully and are in magnificent condition. Both weigh between 70 and 80 pounds. We would love to place these two in a home together, if possible, but we would separate if necessary. Please come meet these wonderful, beautiful kids and give them the life they really deserve. They have been in rescue way to long and they will repay their new family with so much love, giggles and smiles! 602-316-8919 (no texts please)March 13, 2026, 7:57 pm

Story
All About Miss ShelbyShelby, A871662, is a 10 year old spayed adorable Carolina Dog that looks like a gorgeous, red-haired fox but is named after the creator of the 1962 racecar Shelby Cobra CSX 2000. Carolina dogs are sometimes called American (or Dixie) Dingoes because they resemble the famous Australian dingo. This is an American breed that actually descended from wild dogs found in the US, but with a gentle nature that makes them an ideal family pet. They have a life span of 12- 15 years. What do the volunteers say about Shelby? This tender beauty will definitely melt your heart. She was rescued from a tragic situation and needs to learn what love is all about. Another said that she`s a little shy but totally sweet and is slowly learning to trust and love.I took Shelby as a foster in July. She wasn`t sure if she wanted to go with me until the assistant started to take her back to her kennel. Then I was better than the alternative. Her previous traumas still play a role in accepting new people. She still doesn`t accept treats from strangers. Upon arriving at my home, she was greeted by the resident King cat named Meemoo. He explained the rules to her and they`ve both gotten along since then. Shelby is quiet except for a few random and brief moments outside when she likes to communicate to neighboring pups. She does not, however, love loud noises, particularly spectacularly loud sneezes! While she is named after a fast and famous motor, Shelby prefers to move at a more dignified pace. She`s made a couple of trips down to the Souther Arizona Animal Food Bank, where they wanted to shower her with treats. The people were ok, but NO treats. She must have some painful memories of taking treats from strangers. And dinnertime? Don`t forget the fruits and veggies. Cooked carrots and zuchini, canned pumpkin, tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, some strawberries and a little shredded cheese. She also enjoys quietly sunbathing by the pool but seems to have no interest in swimming. Shelby loves to receive love and wants a quiet home with lots of love. She`s still learning to love. It`s recommended that she meet resident dogs prior to going home to make sure it`s a good match.Who out there has it in their heart to adopt and nurture Shelby in her twilight years?
