Meet Truffles -“The Ears Have It!” Few critters in the animal kingdom have ears that can move separately, up/down, folded, or crisscrossed. The magnificent Truffles is one of the few! This gorgeous, friendly, athletic gal is endowed with huge stick up bat signal ears. When not receiving transmissions, one or both of her giant receivers crisscross atop her head. She loves long walks on her leash, zooming, playing with balls & stuffies, tug-of-war and of course, cuddling. Truffles was born with a genetic condition called mega esophagus that requires a bit of extra time & special steps at meals. She has a custom chair that allows her to eat in an upright position. Truffles eagerly gets into her chair as she is quite food motivated. She sits in her chair for 15 -20 minutes after eating. She cannot have treats. And that is it! You might notice her throat moving like a bullfrog when she is sleeping, due to the enlarged esophagus, but that is nothing to worry about. She is intelligent, active, affectionate, and eager to please. She is ideal for an active family or individual. More Attributes! Leash trained Loves kids, but likely too boisterous for little ones Needs extra care at meal time Local adoption fee is$200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
07/29/25 Update ~Lainey is back with us through no fault of her own. We believe Lainey may be a Pharaoh Hound mix and it is an interesting breed to research. One of the unique features of the breed is the ability to “blush.” When the Pharaoh Hound becomes excited, their ears, nose and even eyes can turn a rosy hue. Lainey, one of our 3 pharaoh hounds who were adopted about 5 months ago, is back with us, really through no fault of her own. She had just a little too much energy for the people that adopted her and they felt they needed to do what was best for Lainey so she is back with us, to .find the perfect home. Ideally, she would love a home with room to run so she can burn off some of her energy. She is not an apartment doggie. But then she also loves to cuddle with you to chill and relax. No kitties for this girl though.
