Story
Delilah is a sweet, loving, and intelligent dog. I adopted her from a shelter in Killeen, TX back in January 2021. When I got her they estimated she was about 2. She is very healthy, at a perfect weight. I believe she’s a Indian Pariah Dog I’m looking to find Delilah a new family is because she spends a lot of her time locked up. She doesn’t like to be left out of her crate. Also, I’m starting to travel more for work, so it’s becoming a challenge. She can be a little territorial about her cage, but only when she’s in it and a stranger walks near it. Also, if a stranger walks towards us she’ll lunge, unless they have a dog and she wants to play. She’s ok on the leash, but not perfect. These can be resolved with basic training or changes (like getting her comfortable with staying out of the crate). I could write a million good things about her, but want to be transparent about the challenges. It deeply saddens me that I need to re-home her but I want her to have the best life.

Story
This most handsome boy is Xander. He is extremely people-oriented, and nothing makes him happier than spending time with his most favorite PAWS staff and volunteers! Xander is a confident, loving, and extremely loyal friend. He is very sensitive and highly intelligent, a combination which unfortunately causes him great stress living at the shelter. The good news is, Xander has been loved by many foster families and we know he absolutely THRIVES in a home environment. Here are some glowing notes from one of his recent foster parents: "I was so lucky to foster Xander, he is absolutely awesome. First of all, his impeccable manners and listening skills make him a perfect houseguest. He is 100% potty trained and he is not destructive whatsoever, he is very respectful inside our home. Beyond being a perfect houseguest, Xander is an absolute blast to have around! He has so much personality, he LOVES toys and is very playful. He carried his stuffed animal squid with him everywhere he went. He also loves playing fetch and going on walks. After playtime he doesn't mind settling right down and cuddling up for a nap (or 10) throughout the day. He is very sweet and affectionate during down time. I absolutely loved fostering Xander!! He is just the sweetest, funniest boy and I miss him already!" At 3 years old, Xander still has youthful energy but he also appreciates the finer things in life, such as quiet time and a soft bed to relax in. He has lived peacefully with other dogs in previous foster homes, but he can be reactive to strange dogs through a fence. He also bonds very strongly with his caretakers, and he might show wariness towards new people. But with some patience and delicious treats, he soon comes around and expands his circle of trust. Xander is such a good boy with so much love to give; he is beyond ready to meet his new family and spend the rest of his life completely devoted to them!

We welcomed Astro into our home last year and we fell in love with him immediately. He is so sweet and very affectionate. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. Unfortunately he does not get along with our cat. We have tried everything, but unfortunately they cannot co exist. We are looking to rehome him with someone who does not have any cats and wants a sweet and loving dog.
