Story
Hello! My name is Arizona. When I first arrived here, I needed a fresh start. I was understandably nervous, very skinny, and struggling with all the changes. Since then, I've settled in and have had the chance to show my true colors and personality. I warm up to people quite easily now, and once you're my person, I'll stick by your side like glue. I'm a loyal, affectionate girl who loves snuggles and spending time with my favorite humans. I also experience some barrier reactivity when I'm in my kennel, so I may bark or react when someone approaches while I'm behind the kennel door. It can make me seem intimidating at first, but once I'm out of my kennel and spending time with people I know and trust, I'm a sweet, loving girl who just wants to be close to my humans. When I first came to the shelter, I wasn't a fan of other dogs at all. But with lots of patience, training, and slow, positive introductions, I've made incredible progress and now have a few dog friends! Because of this, any introductions to dogs in my new home should still be done slowly and properly to help me continue building confidence. I've also met a few cats. They make me a little nervous, but I'm also very curious and excited to meet them. If my new family has cats, I'll need slow, carefully managed introductions with a leash dragging at first to help ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable while we get to know each other. I'm spayed, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. Please stop by for some snuggles—I would love the chance to meet you! ❤️
