"You haven't lived until you've seen Bear light up when he learns something new."Bear is smart, affectionate, and incredibly devoted to his people. He loves one on one time, thrives during training, and soaks up praise like sunshine. What Bear Needs to Shine• A secure, visually blocked yardBear gets stressed when he sees other dogs up close, so having a quiet, enclosed space helps him feel safe.• Walks in calm areasHe's selective with other dogs, so quieter routes and continued positive muzzle training will set him up for success.• Someone who enjoys a smart dogBear responds beautifully to structure, patience, and positive reinforcement. He loves working with someone calm and confident.• Support while he learns to be aloneBear is working on building comfort with solo time, and a flexible schedule will help him continue making progress. Why You'll Love HimBear is affectionate, intelligent, eager to please, and deeply loyal. He's not just looking for any home; he's looking for his person. And for the right match, he'll be unforgettable. Please note that all dog meet‑and‑greets are scheduled by appointment only. Story
Isla is a gorgeous, middle-aged Husky with a heart full of love and a spirit built for adventure. Loyal, outgoing, and just the right amount of mischievous, Isla is the perfect companion for an active home looking for a fun-loving and devoted friend.Like most Huskies, Isla is athletic and energetic - she thrives on long walks, outdoor play, and mental stimulation. (Bonus: she's great on leash!) Despite her age, she's still got plenty of pep in her step and would love a home that can keep up with her adventurous side.Isla absolutely adores being with her people and can get quite anxious when left alone, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal. She must always be walked on a secure harness or supervised in a fully fenced yard - she's a curious girl with a knack for escaping if left to her own devices! This clever lady does have a strong prey drive and can't resist chasing small animals, so a securely enclosed space is a must. She may be able to live with another dog, but introductions should be slow, calm, and carefully managed to ensure a good fit.If you're looking for a loyal companion who will join you on every adventure and reward you with endless affection, Isla might just be the one for you!Submit an online application at adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit!
