Story
We are so excited to introduce Luna. This absolute charmer is a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix. Luna was extremely loved by her owner, and they had a deep bond; however, her owner was involved in a devastating accident that left the owner hospitalized and unable to care for Luna. Luna was out of sorts at the shelter. She doesn’t like being crated and wants to be near people. She has been in a foster home for the last month and is thriving! Luna is incredibly friendly and easy-going and has been a wonderful house guest. She loves running in the snow and going on long walks. While she is unphased by other dogs who walk by her while on a leash, Luna must be the only pet in the home because she doesn’t want to share her human’s attention! Luna is a big girl at 106 lbs., but needs to lose weight, so she should be with an owner who can provide her with a healthy lifestyle. Luna must undergo Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) surgery, which will be provided by PK. Although she cannot be formally adopted until surgery is complete, we are open to foster-to-adopt arrangements to help get her into a loving home as soon as possible. Even though Luna has been through a heartbreaking loss, she still has so much love to give and can’t wait to find another family with whom to develop a deep bond. This is August, a friendly husky mix who is ready to find herself a new family! August is 3 years old, weighs 47 lbs., and was surrendered to PK after a family member became allergic to her. August is friendly and outgoing. She gets along with small dogs, some bigger dogs (she’s a bit more selective with larger breeds), and has spent time around children of all ages. She can be cat-tested if requested. August walks well on a leash, is house- and crate-trained, and knows multiple commands. One of her eyes was injured when she was a newborn puppy, but the injury doesn’t bother her. August is a great family dog and would fit right into lots of homes! Apply at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Story
Meet Sassy! Her name is a bit misleading because this girl is just downright sweet. Sassy is a 2-year-old, 51-pound, female husky who was surrendered to PK when her owners felt they could no longer meet her needs. Sassy is very gentle pup who is housetrained and knows a few commands. She was a good girl when left home alone. The big thing you need to know about Sassy is that she is an expert-level escape artist, and she loves to run! She escaped her prior owner’s fenced yard on many occasions. She will need a fully enclosed, secure yard with at least a 6-foot-high fence and an owner who is willing to always monitor when she is in the yard; or she will need to be taken out on a leash only. Anyone living with her will need to be extremely careful (e.g., not leaving doors or gates open). Sassy gets along with other dogs but has no experience with cats (we can cat-test her if requested).
