Location: Bristol, VA Maggie is looking for her forever home. Her original owner went into a training program, and she was not allowed to join. She is about 1 yr old, ~35 lbs, up to date on shots and chipped. She has had one litter and needs to be spayed - easily done for low cost through Animal Defense League combined with Holly Help at Margaret Mitchell clinic. She has been in her foster home about 3 weeks. House broken, crate trained, walks well on leash - just have to let her know expectations, plays well with dogs & cats. Story
We got our purebred German Shepard from an ethical breeder in Tennessee. She is the sweetest most loving thing who needs lots of attention. She loves to play in the water, go for walks, and run around. She is house trained, crate trained and knows basic commands. She does not get along with other small dogs. She loves treats and cuddling. She is approx 5 going on 6 She would do best in a home without other animals unless you have other large dogs. She really is the best and is so intelligent.

Story
I am desperately trying to find a new home for my dog due to ongoing health and financial issues. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that has progressed to walking difficulties. I was also be having an upcoming surgery in February that I will be hospitalized for an extended period of time. I have reached out to shelters, rescues, family and friends with no luck. She needs someone with breed experience. She does suffer with anxiety, and needs someone who can help socialize her more. She takes time to warm up but once you get past that she is an amazing dog!
