Story
Koda is a wonderful, playful 4 year old GSD/Husky mix. He's extremely friendly to people and just wants pets and playtime more than we're currently able to give him. He's friendly with other dogs and is great with out kids and their friends. He was trained for 1 month at a dog boarding/training school and generally obeys his known commands well. He does dig as a means to get out of the heat in the back yard, but otherwise he's an amazing dog. I'm heartbroken we have to look toward rehoming him, but he will be an amazing companion for whoever is lucky enough to be his new family.

Story
🐾 Meet Tex 🐾 Hi, I'm Tex, a 7-year-old German Shepherd with the gentlest heart you'll ever meet. My journey with LAPS began back in August 2020 when I arrived at the shelter as a young adult. Just one month later, in September 2020, I found a loving home and spent over five wonderful years as part of a family. Unfortunately, life doesn't always go as planned. During my time at home, I developed a medical condition that became increasingly difficult and expensive for my family to manage. In February 2025, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender me back to LAPS so I could receive the care I needed. Once I returned, the staff discovered I had been living with a thyroid deficiency, which caused much of my fur to fall out and affected my overall health. Since then, everyone at LAPS has worked hard to help me feel better. With medication, love, and lots of care, I'm continuing to improve every day. Even after everything I've been through, my spirit has never changed. I am one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. I wouldn't hurt a fly. I absolutely love cuddles, enjoy spending time with people, and happily make friends with everyone I meet. My favorite place is right beside someone who loves me. I may not look like the picture-perfect German Shepherd right now, but my heart is as beautiful as ever. All I want is another chance—a family who will see past my missing fur and see the loyal, loving companion underneath. I've already known what it's like to have a home, and I know how much it means. I'm hoping there's someone out there willing to give me that gift one more time.
