Story
Kevin may only be two years old, but he’s mastered the fine art of being a very good boy. This 35-ish pound Podengo mix has it all: the zoomies, the charm, and the kind of manners that make strangers ask, “Wait… I could adopt THIS dog?!” ✨ A (non exhaustive list of) Why Kevin is Amazing: • Polite Everywhere: Kevin was the recent hotdog star of the Petsmart Halloween Parade! From busy dog events to quiet neighborhood strolls, Kevin keeps it classy. • Dog Socialite: He LOVES other dogs of all sizes and has been a total gentleman with every pup he’s met. • People Person: He’s been amazing with every human too (kids are still newer to him, and his energy at playtime means potential for rough and tumble). • Crate + House-trained: That’s right, he’s got the basics down pat. 🚶 Leash Life: On walks, Kevin isn’t in a rush. He’s all about the sniffari lifestyle, taking time to enjoy every smell like it’s a fine wine. He’s gotten so much better on leash—he’ll trot along happily by your side, pausing only to say, “Hang on, that bush smells fascinating.” ⚡ Play Hard, Nap Hard: Give him a fenced yard and he’ll zoom like an Olympic sprinter. Take him for a hike or a jog and he’ll keep up like a pro. But when it’s time to chill? Put on some classical music and Kevin will transform into a napping gentleman of the highest order. 🧠Head and heart: Kevin is smart! He has a very good memory for when he last saw things. Once he went outside and found some bread his foster parents threw into the yard for the birds, now he has to investigate that spot every night in case he gets lucky again! 🌭 Additionally, Kevin is an absolute 😇 at the vet and doesn’t give anybody any trouble. Plus he loves getting a nice bath and getting his nails trimmed. 🐾 The Fine Print: Kevin’s prey drive means he may chase cats - but he is not aggressive! With an active adult household, a family of elementary kids, or teens he’ll fit right in. We caution that toddlers might get knocked over because of his energetic play style. 💖 Bottom Line: Kevin is friendly, sweet, funny, and ready for his forever home. He deserves a family who loves adventure, laughter, and snuggles as much as he does. So, if you’ve been waiting for the perfect mix of polite companion and goofy best friend… Kevin’s your guy. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Hi I’m Scooby! I am a shy boy who still lacks some confidence. Given the right home with someone who understands that I need time and patience to slowly warm up to them, I could really come to be a great family member. I like other dogs and play well with them especially if they don’t mind roughhousing. I am always showing off my toys in my kennel to the staff. Sometimes when they come by, I like to just hold it in my mouth to show them that I am proud of my toys. I walk really well on a leash, but don’t know my basic manners yet. I would need someone who is an experienced dog owner to help guide me through the rest of my life in their home. — Scooby would do best in a low activity level home, in a quiet neighborhood. * Fast Friends adopts in the New England area. Story
Ollie is a 4 year old Portuguese Podengo. He may be a pint sized dog at roughly 30 lbs, but he has a large personality. Ollie would thrive in a moderately active home where he can get lots of walks and playtime as well as plenty of time to relax and take naps. Ollie can be a little shy around new people and environments but tends to adjust well given time. Due to Ollie's past experiences he has a very hard time trusting men and would do best in a female only home or with an experienced adopter that can work with his fears help him find confidence. Ollie does ok with other dogs but can be overwhelming to some. He is very playful that loves doing zoomies with his favorite toys and splashing around in a kiddie pool. He is also one of the biggest cuddle bugs and loves getting pet and taking naps. Ollie is really the best of both worlds if given some time and patience, he is sure to win your heart. * Fast Friends adopts in the New England area. Story
IDGSR Welcomes KEVIN into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Well howdy, folks! Name’s Kevin, and I reckon I might just be the smallest German Shepherd this side of Nashville, Tennessee… trapped in a Chihuahua/Terrier body. Don’t let my size fool ya—what I lack in height, I make up for in heart, grit, and a whole lotta personality. Quick Facts: Age - 6-months old Kids - will do fine with kids Dogs - great with other dogs Cats - probably no cats 1. At 6 months old, I’m still a young buck, full of curiosity and charm. 2. I’ve got a funny little bob-tail that wiggles faster than a tumbleweed in a windstorm, and a coat that looks straight outta the German Shepherd handbook. I’m startin’ to think I might be an undercover deputy from the Shepherd ranks—just disguised in a compact package! 3. I get along mighty fine with other dogs, and I’d fit right in whether you’re livin’ in a ranch, apartment, condo, or townhome—I’m not picky about my corral. 4. I’m still workin’ on house and crate trainin’, but I’m a quick learner if you’ve got some patience and a few treats up your sleeve. 5. I’ll need a good ol’ dose of obedience trainin’, but partner, once I learn the ropes, I’ll be your most loyal sidekick on every adventure. 6. So what do you say, cowboy (or cowgirl)? Saddle up and adopt me —the tiny sheriff with the Shepherd soul! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY!
