Shyla is a big, goofy girl with the sweetest heart. Shyla is the kind of dog who brings a little extra joy everywhere she goes. With her lovable personality and silly charm, it’s hard not to smile when she’s around. Like many hounds, Shyla’s instincts are strong, and she may give a bark when she first meets new people. But don’t worry—she settles down quickly and reveals what she truly is: a loving, affectionate girl who just wants to be your friend. In her previous home, Shyla lived with other dogs and children. While we weren’t given a lot of background information, everything we heard suggests she was a wonderful family dog. Here at the shelter she has also been friendly toward other dogs, but she does appreciate a proper introduction. If a meet-and-greet with another dog is important for your household, we can always accommodate them! Shyla is a medium-energy girl who enjoys getting out for walks and spending time lounging outdoors with her people. She walks well on leash—she might pull a little at the start, but she settles in nicely once she gets going. One of Shyla’s cutest habits is carrying around stuffed toys while making the most adorable soft little mumbling noises under her breath. It’s seriously the sweetest thing and always makes us laugh. Shyla also has great manners. She is potty trained, keeps her space nice and clean, and is said to be crate trained. She already knows the cues “sit,” “down,” and “shake.” Shyla is truly a wonderful girl with so much love to give, and we know that once you meet her, you’ll fall in love.
