Story

Capuchina is about 1.5 years old (estimated date of birth Dec 2024), weighing 25 lbs. She is a mixed breed – possibly Pointer cross. Sadly at her young age, she was living on the street surviving from a kind baker who would share unsold bread with her and she would follow him on his route. Capuchina is a shelter sweetheart, who is very affectionate with volunteers and guests at the shelter and walks perfectly on leash. She likes to get out on volunteer walks and is good with other dogs, and enjoys getting out with them. She’s the kind of dog with the energy to keep up with you on your adventures, and then cuddle up affectionately afterward. Capuchina is fast and agile, and loves to bird chase. She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated and we think she’ll make a wonderful companion. She is currently at our sister sanctuary in Mexico with flight options to BC or Alberta. Story

Under a year old, Hope looking for a family of her own. Abandoned so young, she was found alone, and taken by a stranger to a sponsored SPCA PV spay and neuter clinic in Puerto Vallarta. They just couldn’t bear to put her back on the street, so she was lucky to get into shelter. Hope is the very best kind of mixed breed – making her beautiful AND unique. She currently weighs 30 lbs and will likely stay under 40 lbs. Hope is good with dogs and was successful when tested with cats. She is a bit timid with strangers, but enjoys her volunteer walks and walks nicely on leash. She can startle around loud trucks, so we think she’d enjoy a home with a yard outside of the big city. Hope is spayed and vaccinated and is available on flights to BC or Alberta.
