Story
Don't skip this great goofy gal! Poppy is a previous alumna that is back because her pet parents wanted the best for her energetic personality.  Poppy's foster parent has noticed that she needs mental enrichment more than physical enrichment. So, a multi dog house that does regular training would be the best fit for Poppy. She is a sweet and very social 2 yrs old 55Lb Pointer mix, her birthday was May 24th. She is kennel and command trained. She does still occasionally pull on the leash so taking time for bonding games is suggested before outings. She also still likes to see where the cats are running to but is fine with them. Although a slow introduction would be advised for any new animal.  Poppy's adoption fee is $300 which cover her spay, microchip, vaccines and flea & heartworm prevention. You can apply at gfrpets.org/apply/adoptdog/ ##2152248##

Story
Meet Olive! 🐾Olive is a sweet, cuddly, energetic 7 month old puppy. She loves people, cuddling, playing, and receiving attention. She is a very smart girl, and knows sit, stay, and other commands. However, she is still working on consistently listening! I adopted Olive about a month ago; she is not compatible with my two resident cats. She becomes highly focused on them, locks on, and tenses up. After trying multiple approaches, I decided to rehome her to a cat free home. I also believe Olive would do best with another friendly, well-socialized dog. She loves to play and learn from other canine companions! Although that is not a necessity, as she still does completely fine without the guidance of an older dog.She is potty trained (with occasional accidents from excitement!) Her breed is unknown and is an estimate based on looks and temperament. I am hoping to find her a loving home where she can thrive! ❤️

Story
If you remember Teddy Ruxpin, you’ll understand exactly how this little guy got his name. He’s got the adorable teddy bear face, the fluffy chocolate coat, and the kind of personality that makes you want to scoop him up and take him home. Thankfully, unlike the original Teddy Ruxpin, he doesn’t require batteries or cassette tapes. 😂 Ruxpin is a 10-year-old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix weighing just 7 pounds. He’s an absolutely gorgeous little guy with a personality to match! He’s very friendly, seems to love everyone he meets, and gets along nicely with other small dogs. Strangers? Just friends he hasn’t met yet! He’s been quiet so far, enjoys car rides, and does okay on a leash. He especially loves spending time outdoors, presumably conducting very important teddy bear business. Ruxpin came to us after being surrendered by a breeder in Oklahoma. Animal Rescue Corps stepped in to help approximately 80 dogs, transporting them to Tennessee and coordinating with multiple rescues to get everyone somewhere safe. Deeby’s welcomed five of these little ones, including our handsome Ruxpin! We think he’d likely do well with respectful children. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet. At 10 years old, Ruxpin is certainly not ready to retire from having adventures. He’s friendly, adorable, wonderfully portable, and ready to find a family who appreciates a good vintage teddy bear. 🤎 Interested in adopting Ruxpin? Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Minimum adoption donation: $275 📍 Located in Bloomington, Illinois. We do not ship dogs; adopters must travel to us. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested, and on preventatives. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. Current pets must be spayed/neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and receiving heartworm prevention. We require a veterinary reference and two non-family personal references. Helpful tip: Have your veterinarian’s and references’ contact information ready when applying! You can also have your veterinarian send records and your references email us directly to help speed up the process.
