Dottie is a beautiful English Pointer with an adventurous spirit and a heart that's ready for a fresh start. Originally bred to be a hunting dog, Dottie discovered that the sound of gunfire just wasn't for her. After spending much of her life in a kennel run with little opportunity to stretch her legs, she's now discovering how wonderful life can be with room to run, people to love, and new adventures around every corner. This athletic girl is happiest when she's on the move. Whether she's playing fetch, exploring the outdoors, or showing off just how fast she can run, Dottie loves having an outlet for her energy. She's an incredibly athletic dog who would thrive with an active family that enjoys hiking, long walks, or spending time outside. After she's had a chance to burn off some energy, she's more than happy to relax and enjoy time with her people. Dottie is affectionate, intelligent, and playful, though she can be a little reserved when meeting new people. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. She gets along well with other dogs and has done well with children of all ages, making her a wonderful companion for an active family. This smart girl walks nicely on a leash, enjoys chewing on bones, and has an adorable habit of hiding her favorite toys for safekeeping. She's also house trained, crate trained, and keeps her kennel clean, giving her a wonderful foundation for an easy transition into her forever home. With her signature dot on her head, graceful athleticism, and loving personality, Dottie is ready to leave her kennel days behind and start the next chapter of her life. Hi, I'm Black Bean! I'm a sweet guy who is already housetrained and enjoys spending time with other dogs. I can already picture myself settling into a cozy routine with my family, going on walks, and curling up for a well deserved nap afterward. If you are interested in adopting, please visit the shelter during adoption hours. Be sure to let the front desk know the name of the dog you are interested in visiting. Once you have met with the dog and an application has been approved, we will then ask to complete a meet and greets with any dog(s) that are currently living in the home or visit frequently. Our adoption hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 12pm-5:30pm Thursday: 2:30pm-5pm Saturday & Sunday: 12pm-4:30pm
