Story

Zedra arrived at Horse Creek Wildlife on July 28, 2021. She is a sweet girl. She is a little shy when she first meets new people, but warms up quickly. She enjoys playing with other dogs. She likes going for leash walks along our walking trail. She is full-grown weighing 29 pounds, and we believe she is a Pointer mix. Zedra will make a great addition to a loving and caring family. Wouldn’t you like to have this sweet girl in your life? All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. They receive monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. All of their medical needs are taken care of before they are available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $100.00. Please complete an application, if you have found a dog you are interested in adopting. You can find our application at www.horsecreekwildlife.org/applic.html. Once completed, you can forward it to adoptions@horsecreekwildlife.org or fax it to 731-926-3000. Kim Austin, our adoption facilitator, will be in contact with you as soon as she has an opportunity to review your application. Understand that she has other duties and she will not ignore any interest shown in adopting one of our dogs. An application will need to be approved before a scheduled time to visit our dogs will be set up. It may take up to 48 hours before she returns your call or responds to your email, due to work schedules, holidays and adoption events. We do the very best we can for the dogs we have rescued and do not take the adoption process lightly. Please be patient and understand that we will place our rescued dogs in the very best homes possible and reserve the right to refuse applications.

Skittles

Story

Skittles was dumped in a huge field in a rural area of Marion County. Neighbors were feeding her occasionally. When I found out about her I went to her every day for a month. I gave her a small blanket and a toy. I fed her every day for a month before she decided I was ok and jumped in my car. Thunderstorms are very scary for her so she has noise canceling ear muffs. Looks funny but works great. She loves tummy rubs. Loves to cuddle. She runs like the wind. She does "Zummies" in our fenced yard, which I highly recommend a fenced yard, or a very large farm area where she can run and burn off energy safely. She plays well with our Springer and she does pretty good with our indoor cats too and loves to snuggle with them as well (3 cats: a 14 yo, a 4 yo and a 4 month old). She's so funny when she naps, feet in the air and she snores, loudly. She is crate and house trained. Hard toys and ropes are best. She has her favorite ball. Needs help with leash training. She's spayed & vetted.

Story

Caramello was found abandoned and left to die. This dog was emaciated, full of parasites, covered in fleas and ticks, and a skin infection. In addition to these problems this poor boy had a painful prolapsed rectum. He was immediately carried to the vet where his rectum was stitched and he was started on antibiotics & other meds. An amazing foster took him in the healing began. He has gained over 15lbs, his hair is growing back, and he has learned to be a pet!

Story

Hi, I’m Zoie! I’m a Labrador mix with a cute little bobtail and a big, happy personality! My story didn’t start the way it should have. I was dumped and left to figure things out on my own, but somehow, I never let that take away my joy for life. I’m still a happy girl who wakes up ready to see what wonderful things the day might bring. ❤️ I’m proof that a rough beginning doesn’t have to determine your future. I’m ready to leave the past behind and find a family who will show me what it means to be truly loved and never abandoned again. And let’s talk about my bobtail! 🐶🍑 It just makes me extra adorable and gives me a little something special that sets me apart from the crowd. I’m ready for adventures, belly rubs, cozy naps, and a forever family who will appreciate my happy-go-lucky spirit. I may have been dumped, but I refuse to let that define me. I’m Zoie, I’m happy to be here, and I’m ready to find my forever home! 💕🐾
