Story
Fava Bean has the heart of an explorer. Open the crate door, and she's one of the first to wonder what's waiting on the other side. Every new room deserves a careful investigation, every interesting object is worth inspecting, and if there's a bowl or a flower pot sitting nearby, you can safely assume Fava Bean has already decided it needs a kitten inside it. She approaches the world with quiet curiosity, always eager to discover what's around the next corner, especially when she has her siblings by her side
Go watch Fava Bean, the Little Explorer on YouTube, then come right back to read more!
You'll see her stepping out to explore while some of her siblings are still deciding what to think of the room. Watch her investigate every inch of her surroundings, including her determined attempt to climb into a decorative bowl simply because it looked interesting enough to investigate. Once the wand toy comes out, her playful kitten side shines through, and you'll also catch a glimpse of her adorable little stubby tail and those extra "thumbs" that make her paws every bit as charming as the rest of her!
Estimated to be around 3.5 months old, with an estimated birthday of March 21, 2026, Fava Bean is a beautiful white kitten with warm tan ears and tan patches across her back. She may be a Manx mix, thanks to her adorable stubby tail, and she's also polydactyl, meaning she has extra toes that make her already oversized kitten paws even more irresistible. As with all rescue animals, her age and breed are our best educated guess!
Fava Bean is part of a litter of seven kittens who have already overcome quite a journey. After being rescued from a shelter, the entire litter came to Three Little Pitties, where they spent time in quarantine while receiving treatment and care for ringworm and exposure to panleukopenia. Thanks to dedicated care, they're feeling so much better and are finally ready for the next chapter: learning what life in a loving home is all about.
During our visit together, Fava Bean's curiosity was impossible to miss. She wasted very little time exploring the room, happily checking out anything that caught her eye. While treats weren't particularly exciting that day, the wand toy certainly was, and it didn't take much encouragement before she was happily batting and chasing after it. She has that wonderful kitten balance of curiosity and playfulness that makes even ordinary moments entertaining.
Although she was comfortable exploring, having her siblings nearby clearly gave her an extra boost of confidence. We'd love to see Fava Bean spend time in a home where she can continue building confidence as an individual and discover just how brave she can be on her own. She's already shown she has the curiosity—she just needs a family willing to encourage it with patience, gentle handling, and plenty of positive experiences!
Like many young kittens who haven't had much opportunity to experience home life, Fava Bean appreciates slow, thoughtful introductions. It’s been noted that if she feels frightened or overwhelmed, she may use her mouth to communicate that she'd like some space. It's simply one of the ways she's learned to say she's unsure. Giving her the chance to approach at her own pace and respecting her boundaries will help her confidence continue to grow.
One thing Fava Bean already knows well is crate life. After spending much of her young life in quarantine, she's comfortable resting in a kennel and settles in nicely. Now she's ready to trade that routine for cozy windowsills, soft blankets, and a family to call her own.
Fava Bean would be a wonderful match for someone who enjoys watching a kitten blossom. She doesn't need someone to rush her; she needs someone who celebrates the little milestones. The first confident stroll across the room, the first voluntary cuddle, the first time she decides your lap is worth investigating. Those moments are the ones that make bringing home a kitten like Fava Bean so incredibly special!
