🐾💙 Meet Douglas! 💙🐾Meet Douglas, a 4-month-old Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix weighing in at just 6 pounds! This tiny guy is equal parts adorable, affectionate, and full of personality. He may be small enough to fit comfortably in your lap, but he has a huge heart and an even bigger desire to be someone's best friend. Life didn't always treat Douglas kindly. Before coming to the shelter, he was one of many dogs rescued from a cruelty and neglect hoarding situation. Food was not always readily available, and he and the other dogs were left confined inside an abandoned home for what is believed to have been several weeks. Because of the conditions they endured, Douglas arrived with some skin issues, but thanks to proper care, good nutrition, and lots of TLC, those have already mostly resolved. ❤️ The most amazing thing about Douglas is that despite everything he has been through, he has absolutely no shortage of love to give. He greets each day with a wagging tail, a happy spirit, and excitement for whatever adventure comes next. Douglas is wonderfully social and friendly, especially with other dogs. He enjoys having canine companions and would be happy in a home with another gentle pup to play with—or as the star of the show in a home where he can soak up all the attention for himself. He also adores children and is always excited to make new friends. 🥰This little guy definitely brings the puppy energy! He loves to run, play, zoom around the yard, and investigate everything life has to offer. Toys are great, but treats might just be his favorite thing in the whole world. If you have a pocket full of yummy snacks, you'll have Douglas's full attention in no time. 🍖✨ One of Douglas's favorite things in the world is simply being close to his people. He absolutely loves being held, cuddled, and doted on, and he'll happily curl up in your arms as if he was made to fit there. If you're looking for a little shadow to follow you from room to room, Douglas is ready to apply for the position. He's also doing great on a leash, making walks enjoyable and stress-free. Curious and observant, Douglas loves exploring new places and discovering what the world has to offer. Even while investigating, he's always checking back to make sure his favorite human is nearby. Like any young puppy, Douglas is still learning about the world and will need continued training and guidance as he grows. The good news is that he's a smart little fellow who is eager to please, highly food motivated, and loves attention, making him a wonderful candidate for positive reinforcement training. 🎓🐶 Above all else, Douglas wants to be someone's special little companion.
