Story
Opal is a 1.5-2-year-old female who’s guessed to be a Chihuahua/Dachshund (aka “chiweenie”) mix. She’s 11-12 pounds of pure love with her sleek black and white coat. Opal was rescued from a park known for dumping dogs in Amarillo, TX along with 3 other dogs. They had been there for over a month before we heard about them being there. As soon as we heard they needed help, we sprang into action and rescued all 4 of them. Opal was the ringleader and as soon as she walked into the trap to get the food, the other 3 followed her. All of her other friends have been adopted and now it's time for Opal to find her amazing family that will continue to love her the way she deserves. Opal can be a little nervous and sometimes hand shy at first, but once she is settled she is just the bounciest, happiest little girl who loves to sit in your lap and snuggle. In the yard she will happily frolic and play with other small or extra small dogs. She gets the zoomies a few times a day and will fly around the yard or inside for a minute or two. Her ideal forever home would spoil her rotten with treats/toys, give her lots of attention (she loves pets and belly rubs!), and have at least a small fenced yard for her to run, play, and zoomie in. She is fully grown and won’t get any bigger (unless they are fed a few too many treats in the years to come). Opal is potty and leash trained. She does well with other dogs and even cats (she may bark at them at first, but settles). With a moderate energy level, she enjoys both playtime and snuggles/naps. Because of her small size and touch of nervousness, she would do best in homes with children aged 14 years and up. APPLY TODAY! Meet Fruitloop 🐾 Fruitloop is a 5-month-old Chihuahua mix with a face that's hard to forget and a whole future ahead of him. As a young puppy, Fruitloop is still figuring out the world and showing us who he is. What we do know is that he's reached the age where his playful puppy side is starting to shine, and he's ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a family of his own. Like all puppies, Fruitloop will need continued training, guidance, and plenty of opportunities to learn and explore. With patience, consistency, and love, he'll have the chance to grow into a wonderful companion. Fruitloop is neutered, up to date on age-appropriate veterinary care, and ready to find his forever home. 💕 Apply to adopt and come meet Fruitloop!

Story
2 years old • Chihuahua mix • 17 lbs Rocket may be small, but his personality definitely isn’t. This goofy little guy is playful, affectionate, and always ready to have fun — especially if a toy is involved. His absolute favorite thing? Fetch. Although to be fair, he’s still convinced the game ends once he gets the toy. 😂 Rocket was picked up as a stray after reportedly wandering a neighborhood making dog friends along the way. Based on his condition when found, it’s suspected he may have been dumped, but you’d never know it from how social and loving he is. He’s been settling into foster care well and is already showing what a fun little companion he’ll make. Rocket enjoys attention, likes being around people, and does well entertaining himself with toys too. He’s doing well with kennel training, leash walking, and learning basic manners. Rocket has also done well with other dogs in foster care. At the shelter he was a little unsure during introductions and gave some growly warnings, but did not escalate — which isn’t unusual for dogs adjusting to a stressful shelter environment. At just 17 lbs, Rocket is the perfect size for couch cuddles, adventures, and tossing toys around your living room. 💛
