Story
Meet Richard! This little guy came to the rescue as a stray that had been hit by a car. The neighbors said he had been hanging around their neighborhood for a month :( Thankfully, his injuries were pretty mild and he healed up quickly! Richard loves all people - including kids! The toddler in his foster home absolutely adores him. He does great with other dogs, but will chase cats so either no cats or a dog savvy cat would be best. He would love nothing more than to hang out with you all day and also enjoys daily walks! He does lift his leg a lot in the house, which we hope will get better now that he is neutered, but for now wears a male wrap to keep from making a mess with no issue at all! He was also recently diagnosed with idiopathic vestibular syndrome, but he has no special care nor does he require medication at this time. To read more about this syndrome, please visit - https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/vestibular-disease-in-dogs Richard's adoption fee is $150 and with that he will come vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He also received a dental cleaning during his neuter and had a full senior panel that showed he is in good health! Story
Precious came back to us due to no fault of her own. The family who we adopted her out to years ago contacted us as her owner passed away, and the family could no longer care for her. Given the circumstances we are glad she was not put into a shelter, and is now looking for another forever home. Her coat does require some maintenance and may sometimes have some senior aches, but is manageable. She does not do good with stairs some of the time, so a home with easy pathways are best!

Story
Sharkey! This guy is a very special pet! The name Sharkey is somewhat descriptive, as "Sharkey" can be a little bit "spicey". He will warm up to his person, and he will allow petting but will be a guy who needs to be handled with care. Sharkey has an unfortunate story of prior life, He was an "outdoor" dog, who came to rescue in poor shape. He had a skin condition that needed attention and was complicated by his matted fur. His dedicated foster mom took in Sharkey and got through his mats, gave him prescribed meds for his skin condition and got him on healthy foods to turn him around completely. He is happy to go outdoors, he eats a healthy diet and will sleep in an exercise pen or larger kennel. He will go in and out with a little direction, and a secure fenced area is a must. Sharkey is happy to go outdoors, but he's also VERY happy to come back in and settle on a soft bed or cushion. Sharkey will do well in a home where he is the only pet, or with one other calm and balanced pet. Sharkey's protective of his personal space. As long as there is an understanding of what is a comforting and welcoming environment for Sharkey, he will do well. Chihuahua Rescue is delighted to have taken in this pet and given him a chance of a loving forever home. We are confident he will be someone's EVERYTHING if given a chance. Sharkey is not recommended to be in a home with children and should go to an adopter experienced in handling a special needs pet. Please inquire about this pet in need and be prepared to have a most grateful companion!
