Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Meet Jenna, a striking one-year-old red and white Husky mix with a spirited personality and a touch of independence. She is not overly energetic and is a big love bug. This smart and active girl already knows the “Sit” cue and is eager to keep learning, especially in a structured environment. While Jenna can be affectionate and playful, she prefers not to share her occasional chew toys, so an experienced home is best suited to help her thrive. She would do best with older children (16+) or in a household familiar with Husky behaviors and needs. Jenna will benefit from continued training, whether in group classes or through private sessions. A detached home with a secure, fenced yard is essential to give her the space and safety she needs to burn off energy and explore the outdoors. She is a medium dog at 22kg or 48lbs.

This sweet girl can be slightly hesitant and grovels on approach and with touch at times. She is insecure and will need a softer handler who is willing to give her time to adjust to new places. She is socialble and does love her atttention, bonding fast to the people with her. She may do best in a calmer home but with active structure, walks ect. She would prefer a home with adults or calmer children who are over 12 years old. A basic manners class or behaviour consult will be required with her adoption. She is a medium sized girl at 50lbs.
