Story
Mr. Jack has been in foster care a while, patiently waiting for his forever family to come along. This handsome 25 pound, fluffy, 7 year old boy really deserves the security of a forever home to spend his golden years in - could that be you? • Jack’s ideal home is one where he’s the only pet and there are no children. • Jack is very, very smart, and has proven that he’s highly trainable. He’s absolutely thrived in foster care with structure and consistent expectations. • His genetic instincts tell him to herd and alert. So, he’s doing his job when he barks (especially when his humans are not in sight or not home - he thinks he needs to let them know what’s going on!), which is a normal, good thing, but makes apartments or duplexes a no-go for Jack. • There is a big difference between Jack who has had a walk and Jack who has NOT had a walk. A simple, daily 15-20 minute walk on a leash with his human is essential for him. It satisfies his curiosity and his urge to burn calories and check things out. We’re not talking about running marathons here, just a quick daily walk. He tuckers out pretty quickly, and it’s well worth it for both him and his human! • Jack’s life has changed drastically multiple times in his 7 years. He needs someone who will give him some grace and patience when he moves in. He will warm up, but he needs someone who understands that it’ll be emotional and scary for him at first. • Jack is not the type of dog that will be able to just be let outside on his own, that’s just not who he is. His herding drive and desire to explore are too engrained in him. The right type of fenced-in area or kennel could be an option, but walks on a leash will still be needed. Specifics can be discussed with serious applicants. • Another important thing to know is that he has a sensitive tummy and is on a prescription diet and probiotics that he will likely need to stay on for the rest of his life. Jack is truly worth it. He’s a smarty-pants, smiles ear to ear when he’s showing off, and loves a good belly rub. His wiggle-worm burrowing routine is hilarious and extremely cute. He loves a good interactive toy, it puts his smarts to use! When he’s not napping, he will be a loyal shadow dog, following you around the house like your shadow. He’ll want to be in your company. He needs someone with some familiarity with dogs like him and who is willing to give him a chance to adjust to his life with them. Jack is up to date on vaccines, neutered, heart worm negative and microchipped. Meet and greet visits, an approved application, and a home visit are required prior to adoption approval. At this time, the rescue is primarily looking at potential homes for Jack in the West or Central Michigan regions. If you think you’re Jack’s forever human, reach out to us to discuss it and apply!

Story
PENDING ADOPTION We recently bought Sawyer, a 9 week old Pomsky puppy. Unfortunately, we’re unable to keep him due to my Fiance having a severe allergic reaction to him. Sawyer is extremely smart, cuddly, and energetic. We’re working on house training and simple commands. He does well in his crate and play pen overall playing with his toys. The breeder stated that he would grow to be about 15-20 lbs. He’s about 5-6 lbs now. Sawyer comes with literally everything that you would need. Freeze dried food, two playpens, basket full of toys, wire crate, soft travel carrier, harness, leash, collar, brushes for his double coat, puppy bath wipes, puppy shampoo, toothbrush and paste, training treats, crate bed, donut bed, poop bags and holders, enzyme and silicone encased steel water/food bowls. He’s not neutered, would need booster shots, rabies shot and have all of his records that his breeder gave us. he received his first round of 8 wk old shots and deworming
