Story
Meet Thor! Thor is a young dog with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. At just a year old, he’s still very much in his “everything is exciting” phase, and he leans into it fully. Whether he’s heading out for a walk, playing in the yard, or working for treats, Thor shows up with enthusiasm and a readiness to engage.
He’s a social guy who truly loves people. Thor enjoys attention, seeks out interaction, and can be incredibly affectionate once he settles into the moment. That said, his excitement can sometimes spill over into jumpy or mouthy behavior, especially when he’s overstimulated. The good news is that Thor is highly food-motivated and has already shown that he can make great progress when given structure, consistency, and clear expectations.
Thor has been working on his training and is starting to build some nice skills. He’s practiced cues like sit, down, and place, and has shown he can respond well, especially when treats are involved. Volunteers have noted that he’s capable of calmer walks and better leash manners when he’s focused, though he will still pull and can get grabby with the leash or clothing when excited. Continued positive reinforcement training will go a long way in helping him channel his energy in more appropriate ways.
He thrives when he has both physical and mental outlets, things like walks, play sessions, puzzle toys, and training exercises really help him succeed. Thor would likely do best in an active home that’s ready to keep him engaged and continue building on the progress he’s already started.
Thor is a fun, smart, and affectionate dog who just needs the right guidance to help him shine. For someone willing to put in a little time and training, he has all the potential to grow into an incredible companion.
