Story
Hi my name is Elsa! I am a purebred Husky with soft fur, bright eyes, and (if I may say so myself) a pretty adorable smile. I love people — like, really love them! If you have hands for belly rubs and pockets for treats, we are sure to be best friends. I am what you might call a “gentle Husky.” I am actually pretty quiet for my breed, and I do not feel the need to comment on everything happening in the neighborhood. I would much rather be near you, soaking up attention and figuring out how to make you proud. I am eager to please and trying my best every day.Let me be honest about a couple things — new dogs and cats make me a little nervous at first. I just need slow introductions and a little patience so I can build confidence. Once I realize everyone is kind and safe, I relax. I promise I’m trying. Oh! And about walks… I get a little excited on leash. The world is big and interesting! I could use some help polishing my leash manners, but I am smart and food-motivated, so I learn quickly (especially if treats are involved). My dream home would be semi-active — maybe daily walks, some playtime, and lots of positive encouragement. I do not need to run a marathon every day, but I would love a family who will help me grow into my most confident, well-mannered self. If you’re looking for a sweet, people-loving girl who will happily trade loyalty for belly rubs… Ia’m right here, waiting for you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Red is a beautiful Pomeranian mix with the most stunning red coat to match his name. At around 2-3 years old, he’s the perfect mix of playful and relaxed, with plenty of love left to give his future family. Red is a social little guy who truly enjoys being around people and other dogs. He’s happiest when he’s part of the action—whether that’s hanging out with his humans, making new dog friends, or curling up nearby for some quality cuddle time. Red is built a little differently than some dogs—his legs aren’t quite as straight as they should be—but it doesn’t seem to slow him down or bother him one bit. He gets around just fine and lives life like any other happy pup. It just adds to his unique charm! He is currently working on his house training and doing well, but he’ll thrive with a consistent routine and a patient family to help him stay on track. Red is okay in a crate if needed, but if he had his way, he’d much rather be snuggled up with his people —especially if that means sharing the bed! If you’re looking for a sweet companion with a gorgeous coat, a friendly personality and a heart full of love, Red might be the perfect addition to your family. Red has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Red, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). Story
Tonita still has plenty of pep in her step! This spunky girl loves getting outside for little adventures, soaking up the fresh air, and taking in the world at her own pace. Whether it’s a stroll around the neighborhood or relaxing in the sunshine, she’s happiest when she gets to be part of the fun. Tonita has done well meeting other dogs and carries herself with a calm, polite vibe. She’s the kind of gal who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to be included. Inside the home, she transforms into a world-class couch potato. Soft beds, cozy blankets, and a comfy spot near her people? That’s her dream life. She’s laid back, easy to be around, and brings a peaceful presence to the home. Tonita is the perfect mix of gentle adventure buddy and snuggle companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady best friend to share both the outdoors and the couch, this lovely lady is ready to settle right into your heart and home.
