Story
Busta Rhymes was surrendered to a vet for euthanasia after becoming so overweight that he could barely walk. When Polka Dogz Pet Rescue took him in at 34 pounds, his journey to becoming the happy, active boy he was meant to be began. With aqua exercise, portion control, encouragement, and lots of love, Busta has lost an incredible 17 pounds—half his body weight! He is now running and playing around the house and yard and has come so far. Busta is a sweet, loving little guy with a big “I can do it!” attitude. He enjoys being with his people and other dogs, loves a lap, and definitely doesn’t want to be left out! He is food-motivated, so his diet will need to be carefully monitored. His back legs remain a little weak from carrying the extra weight for so long, and he cannot manage regular stairs. Busta has overcome so much and never gives up. Now, all he needs is a loving forever family to continue showing him just how wonderful life can be! PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $300 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org. ##2760362##

Story
Hunk is a good boy.  We got a call about him running the street and being saved by good Samaritans. They couldn't hold him because they were leaving town.  We didn't want to see him left on the street after the storm so we picked him up.  He is a BIG sweetheart. We don't know much about him but we do know that he needs a family because no one ever claimed him. We named him Hunk because... well..  he is so handsome!! Story
Hi! My name is Stitch and I’m a loving Boston Terrier looking for my fur-ever home! I absolutely adore people and would make a fantastic companion in a quiet household with no other dogs, cats, or young children under 12 years of age. I love to snuggle, play fetch, travel, shake my butt, kiss my humans, and eat all the treats! I have a very calm and quiet temperament, but I am other-dog reactive, and so I need to be the only dog in the household. I love to go on walks and travel, but I do need to keep my distance from other dogs when out in public as barking or loud noises can make me very nervous. I also know lots of tricks including stay, sit, place, jump, and am very treat motivated to learn more! I’m ready to snuggle up next to you during your next Netflix binge.   The Basics Age: 5 yrs Weight: 22.5 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Leash Skills: Yes Medical: Requires 1 drop of Diclofenac Sodium in the left eye daily.   Likes/Dislikes Toys: Loves all toys and is gentle with them. Other Animals: Stitch is reactive to other dogs and needs to be the only cat/dog in the household. People/Kids: Stitch loves people. Not suited for a home with small kids (under 12 yrs old). Car Rides: Loves car rides and makes a perfect traveling companion for long trips. Separation: No issues with separation anxiety.   Contact/Application Info Questions? Contact his foster, William, by email at Whill11@fau.edu Current location: Springfield, VA Adoption Fee: $350 Ready to Apply to Adopt? Visit www.bostonterriertn.org! Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions. The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma. We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them. Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.October 1, 2022, 10:21 pm

Story
Edward “Eddie” Elmer is an older Boston Terrier, but does not exactly act his age. He loves a good game of tug of war with stuffed animals and can be a goof ball at times. Eddie is an independent lover boy. He loves to be outside but also enjoys a good scratch on the back. He likes to be in charge at times and needs someone that will continue calm, consistent leadership and make sure he knows he is not the boss. Eddie does not require a lot of attention and he’s typically content laying on the floor beside you.  The Basics Age: Approximately 11 yrs old Weight: Approximately 30 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes, but will make noise at the beginning stating he does not like to be in it. He calms down after a few minutes. Leash Skills: Good on leash with a harness. Medical: Takes a daily pill to help with back pain.   Likes/Dislikes: Toys: Loves stuffed animals. Other Animals: Good with other dogs. People/Kids: Good with adults and older kids, not sure how he is with young kids. Car Rides: Loves car rides. Separation: Does not mind being alone.   Contact/Application Info: Questions?
