Story
Found strutting through a Winn-Dixie parking lot like he owned the place, Bean Pie was adopted and sadly recently returned due to his adopter facing multiple upcoming surgeries and no longer being able to keep up with this quirky little character. Now he’s a sturdy 45 lbs of attitude, adventure, and affection all rolled into one compact pup. He’s part lizard hunter, part cuddle bug—and 100% entertaining. Bean Pie loves car rides, gnawing on his favorite bone, and soaking up affection. He has big feelings about trucks (barking is his preferred language), and while he enjoys outings, leash manners are still a work in progress. He’s used to having free roam of the house and usually naps when left alone. At night, he settles into his bed or the coziest corner he can find. Just keep an eye on the door—this clever boy won’t miss an open opportunity. Bean Pie is dog-selective and would do best as your one-and-only or with a dog his own size. No small animals or kids, please—he can get mouthy when overexcited, so a calm, experienced adult home is where he’ll thrive.Bean Pie does have a partial cruciate ligament tear, which means he may occasionally limp if he overdoes it on activity. In a home environment, this may be very manageable with conservative care—taking things easy, limiting high-impact activity, and using over-the-counter pain management as needed. That said, we want what’s best for him long-term. We are happy to send Bean Pie home as a foster-to-adopt, and if surgery ultimately becomes necessary, H.A.L.O. would cover the cost, as long as the adopter is willing to handle the post-surgery recovery and care.If you’re looking for a big personality in a compact body and don’t mind helping him take life a little slower, Bean Pie might be your perfect slice. 🐾🍰Requirements: Martingale Collar; Dog Selective; Calm Children 16+; Foster-To-Adopt (Knee Injury)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Story
Meet Branch… aka Eddie… aka Edward Branch 👑This ~3-year-old English Bulldog is built like a tank, powered by snacks, and full of goofy, lovable chaos. He’s great with other dogs, potty trained, and very food motivated—bring treats and you’ll have a best friend for life. He knows his commands (mostly!) and just needs the occasional reminder to keep all four paws on the floor.Eddie LOVES his people. He’ll happily follow you around for company (and surprise kisses) before settling into his favorite soft dog bed—no couch stealing here. Outside, though? Total maniac. He lives for zoomies, running full speed, and being chased in the yard. He’s also a toy lover, snack enthusiast, and will proudly eat a strawberry… cap and all 🍓His story:Eddie was rescued from an out-of-county shelter after his foster mama spotted him and couldn’t say no. Now he’s thriving and ready for his forever home.A few things to know:- No small children — he’s basically a happy, fast-paced bowling ball- No cats — unless they enjoy being chased like it's an Olympic sport- Has some emotional triggers (long, skinny metal objects like tape measures can be a trigger)- Can be a bit touchy in certain situations (like feeding in a crate), but he’s making progress- Also… baths are a no, and green beans are definitely a no.Eddie is looking for a home that will love his big personality and continue helping him build confidence. In return, you’ll get endless laughs, loyalty, and lots (and lots) of kisses. Interested in adopting? Branch is currently taking it easy in a foster home, so is not located at the shelter, but please fill out an adoption application and give our front office a call to discuss next steps! 💙Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 5yrs+; Breed KnowledgeAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home.
