Story
This is Uncle Sam (tan) and Betsy(white). When their owner had to move out of state, Betsy and Uncle Sam lost their home. Now they’re hoping they won’t have to lose each other, too. Betsy is a 3-year-old, 18-pound Chihuahua mix who was born hearing and visually impaired. She appears to have no vision in her right eye and detects movement only with her left eye. Because of this, she relies on Uncle Sam to help her navigate the world. Wherever he goes, she isn’t far behind. Uncle Sam is a 3-year-old, 34-pound Chihuahua/Pug mix, but he’s so much more than Betsy’s best friend. He’s her confidence, her comfort, her guide, her eyes, her ears, and her safe place. We know bonded pairs can be harder to place, but keeping these two together would mean everything—especially for Betsy. She has already lost her home. We hope she doesn’t have to lose the one constant she’s always depended on. Their ideal home: • Teens or adults only, as Betsy startles easily • They’ve never lived with other dogs or cats but appear to do well with calm, mellow dogs, and with slow, thoughtful introductions, may do well with mellow cats, as well. If you’ve ever believed that love comes in pairs, this is your chance to change two lives forever.

Story
Silly Scuttle is being returned to rescue because his current family can’t keep up with his puppy energy. It’s not his fault — he’s just a typical, playful pup at 10 months old Scuttle is about 40lbs and would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard (which he doesn’t have now). He’s super dog-friendly and loves to ruff house so a furry companion would be great. Scuttle is very smart, highly trainable and excellent on leash. He would benefit from a home with working dog experience. His mama is a puggle, but dad’s breed is a mystery — possibly something with zoomies built in like a Malinois or Black Mouth Cur! Scuttle deserves a chance to burn off his energy, be loved, and just be a dog. Can you give him that chance?  Fully vetted  Crate trained  House trained  Knows basic commands No cats!
