Meet Henry—the happiest little snorting, snoring, Lamb Chop–loving pug you’ll ever meet!🐾At about 10 years old and 17 pounds, Henry is a goofy senior gentleman with a huge personality, an even bigger love for butt rubs, and absolutely no idea that he only has about five teeth left.Henry does wonderfully with dogs of every size and is also great with babies and children. He has a sweet, easygoing personality and is generally happy just relaxing near his people—especially if someone is available to give him his favorite thing in the entire world: butt rubs! When Henry is feeling playful, he reaches for his beloved Lamb Chop toy. Not just any toy will do—Henry is completely devoted to Lamb Chop and apparently sees no reason to play with anything else. 😂He does great in a crate and will happily wear a belly band around the house. Henry is not currently potty trained and still believes nearly everything deserves to be marked, but as long as he is wearing his belly band, his foster family has no issues.Henry recently had all but about five of his teeth removed, but he has not let that slow him down one bit. He still believes every meal is the greatest event of his life! With his silly pug personality, adorable snores and snorts, and calm, affectionate nature, Henry is the perfect combination of entertaining and easygoing. He is ready to bring plenty of laughs, love, and Lamb Chop adventures to his forever family. 🐶💕To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.

Meet Shadow 🖤 Shadow may be small, but he has already fought harder than any baby should ever have to. Shadow, his mama Sugar, and his siblings were dumped in Cleveland, Texas, where they were born into the excruciating Texas heat with no safety, no comfort, and no one coming back for them. From the very beginning, these babies had to cling to life while their mama did everything she could to keep them alive. Thankfully, Shadow and his little family made it to Cactus Ranch Rescue, and now he gets the chance every puppy deserves — a chance to be safe, loved, and spoiled. Shadow is still a young puppy, so his personality is just beginning to bloom. Right now, his days are full of growing, learning, playing, snuggling, napping, and exploring the world one tiny step at a time. Like all puppies, he will need a family ready for patience, potty training, socialization, and all the silly chaos that comes with raising a baby. Shadow’s life started with survival, but his forever home should be full of comfort. He deserves cool air, full bowls, soft blankets, gentle hands, and a family who will make sure he never has to fight for his life again.

Meet Sugar 🤍 Sugar is every bit as sweet as her name. This brave mama was dumped in Cleveland, Texas, with her tiny babies and left to survive in the excruciating Texas heat. Her puppies were born into conditions no newborn should ever have to endure, and Sugar did everything in her power to keep them alive. She protected them, cared for them, and helped them cling to life until they finally made it to safety with Cactus Ranch Rescue. Now it is Sugar’s turn to be the one taken care of. Sugar is an active, loving girl with the biggest heart. She is dog friendly, cat friendly, and kid friendly, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. She does great in her kennel, walks well on leash, and loves being close to her people. She has the perfect mix of fun and affection — ready for adventures, playtime, and walks, but also more than happy to curl up and be your little snuggle bug when the day is done. Sugar has already been an incredible mama. She fought for her babies when they needed her most, and now she deserves a family who will fight for her happiness too. She deserves a home where she is safe, loved, spoiled, and never abandoned again.

Story
Snoop Dog is a one-year-old Wirehaired Terrier/Pug mix weighing about 16 pounds—and yes, his adorable little mohawk makes him every bit as cool as his name. This sweet boy can be a little cautious when meeting someone new. He may bounce around just out of reach while he decides whether you pass the vibe check, but a few treats, gentle pets, and a little patience are usually all it takes. Once he feels safe, Snoop is all about the love. He adores being held, cuddled, and close to his people. When he is comfortable, his playful personality comes right out. Snoop loves toys and proudly carries his favorites around before tossing them, pouncing on them, and settling down for a good chew. He also enjoys zooming through the yard and splashing in a kiddie pool. Snoop is dog friendly and would likely enjoy having a playful canine companion in his new home. He is the perfect mix of sweet, silly, affectionate, and fun. All this little guy needs is someone willing to make the first gentle move. After that, you’ll have a loyal best friend who is ready to drop it like it’s hot right onto your lap for cuddles.

Lil’ Kim is a one-year-old Wirehaired Terrier/Pug mix weighing just 12 pounds. She may be the smallest of her siblings, but this tiny girl has a big personality and enough joy to fill an entire home. Lil’ Kim is playful, silly, and always ready to have fun. She loves zooming around the yard, tossing her toys through the air, and keeping everyone entertained with her goofy antics. Once playtime is over, she is just as happy curling up beside her person for cuddles and a good nap. She can be a little hesitant when meeting someone new and may bounce around just out of reach while she decides whether she feels safe. Once she receives a few gentle pets, her worries melt away. Before long, she is soaking up affection and asking for more. This little girl also loves water! Whether she is relaxing in a kiddie pool or climbing into a water bucket, Lil’ Kim is always ready to make a splash. She is dog friendly and would love a playful canine companion in her new home. Meet Chikitrina A Sweet Little Pug Looking for the Forever Family She Deserves ❤️ Breed: Pug Gender: Female | DOB: April 8, 2025 (1 Year 4 Months) | Weight/Size: 16 lbs (Small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats ✔️ | Kids ✔️ Medical: ✔️ Spayed | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date | ✔️ Microchipped Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Chikitrina's Story Chikitrina's life changed when she was surrendered by her previous owner. Although she lost the home she once knew, she has never stopped trusting people or believing that brighter days were ahead. Today, she's ready to find a family that will love her forever and make sure she never has to experience that loss again. This adorable little girl is everything people love about Pugs. Chikitrina is affectionate, cheerful, and happiest when she's surrounded by the people she loves. She has a playful personality and enjoys carrying toys around the house, going for leisurely walks, and curling up beside you for naps after a fun day. Her sweet face and expressive eyes have a way of making everyone she meets smile. Chikitrina is wonderfully social and gets along beautifully with both dogs and cats. She enjoys companionship and would love a home where she can be part of everyday family life. Whether she's joining you for errands, relaxing on the couch, or greeting visitors with her wagging tail, she's simply happy being included. As a Pug, Chikitrina is known for being loving, loyal, and people-oriented. Pugs thrive on companionship and form incredibly strong bonds with their families. They are playful without being overly demanding and make wonderful companions for families, couples, and individuals alike. Chikitrina would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Daily walks and moderate exercise Positive reinforcement training Interactive toys and enrichment A consistent daily routine A comfortable indoor home where she's treated as part of the family A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment Chikitrina has already experienced what it feels like to lose a home. Now she's hoping her next family will be her forever family—the one that will love her through every stage of life. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Although Chikitrina has lived in a home before, every rescue dog needs time to adjust to new surroundings and routines. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to learn your household routine 3 Months to fully settle into family life Chikitrina is eager to bond with her new family and will continue to flourish with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Her new family should continue providing: Positive reinforcement training Daily walks and gentle playtime Consistent routines Continued socialization Plenty of love, reassurance, and affection With a little time and a lot of love, Chikitrina will become the loyal companion she's meant to be. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Adopting Chikitrina is a lifelong commitment that includes proper veterinary care, exercise, companionship, and a loving home. As part of responsible pet ownership, Chikitrina will need: Annual veterinary wellness examinations Routine vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention A balanced diet to maintain a healthy weight Daily moderate exercise and mental enrichment Continued training and socialization A safe indoor home where she is treated as a cherished member of the family Because Pugs are a brachycephalic (short-nosed) breed, Chikitrina should avoid overheating and strenuous exercise during warm weather. Fresh water, shade, and climate-controlled environments will help keep her comfortable and healthy. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Chikitrina, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Chikitrina is ready to leave her past behind and begin a beautiful new chapter filled with love, cozy naps, playful moments, and a family who will cherish her forever. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow with a heart full of love, Chikitrina is waiting to meet you. ❤️August 7, 2026, 11:30 am

Story
Meet Timo Male DOB: October 06, 2025 Weight: 14 pounds (small) Breed: Pug Mix Neutered (Fixed): Pending Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Timo is a charming young dog with a happy personality, playful spirit, and affectionate nature. At 8 months old, he is still very much a puppy and is at a wonderful age for bonding, learning, and discovering the world around him. He enjoys attention, companionship, and being involved in family activities. Timo is eager to learn and would thrive in a home that can provide structure, guidance, and plenty of love as he continues to mature. As a Pug mix, Timo may show traits such as: A loving and people-oriented personality Playful and affectionate energy Strong attachment to his family Social and companion-focused behavior Intelligence and eagerness to learn Pug mixes are often devoted companions who enjoy being close to their people and thrive when included as part of the family. Timo would thrive in a home prepared for: Continued puppy training and guidance Daily walks and exercise Mental stimulation and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his physical and emotional well-being Young dogs require time, patience, training, supervision, and financial commitment as they continue growing and developing. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued guidance, structure, patience, and supervision as they mature. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Adopting a young dog means being prepared for: Potty training reinforcement and occasional accidents Leash training and obedience work Jumping and playful puppy behavior Continued socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise, structure, and supervision Routine veterinary care Financial commitment throughout the dog's lifetime Timo will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Timo blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Timo will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because Timo is still a young dog, consistency and structure are especially important in helping him mature into a confident and well-balanced adult dog. As a Pug mix, care should also be taken during hot weather, and adopters should monitor for overheating during exercise and outdoor activities. Timo is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful dog, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Our team carefully reviews every application and will reach out to help match you with the right dog for your home and lifestyle. You may be seeing our dogs listed in multiple states because we work hard to give as many of our rescue dogs as possible the opportunity to be seen by loving families beyond our local area. While we are based in Los Angeles, we expand our reach throughout the Western United States and the Midwest to help more dogs find the forever homes they deserve. We understand that transportation and adoption fees can sometimes feel like a big commitment, and we truly appreciate every person who considers opening their heart and home to a rescue dog. Our goal is simply to give these dogs the best chance at being seen, adopted, and loved. Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe and reliable transport so adopted dogs can travel to their new homes across the Western United States, Canada, and the Midwest. We can’t wait to help you meet your next fur-ever best friend.August 7, 2026, 11:30 am

Cooley is the coolest dog - obviously! But really, in all seriousness, Cooley is a fantastic guy! He is a 3 year old "XL Bully" (i.e., American Bully x Bulldog cross) looking for a forever family. He is neutered, vaccinated, and healthy - aside from needing to lose a few pounds! Cooley is currently in a foster home with other dogs and is doing GREAT. He is a big guy and doesn't always realize his size (and power), so a strong handler with familiarity with the breed would be ideal. Cooley is equal parts looks and personality - he's truly the full package! We can't imagine he'll be in our program too long... but we'll love every bit of time we get to spend with him, because he's a really great dog! If you've been looking for a Bully, consider Cooley - because he's ready for you! Apply to adopt Cooley online here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/6476b07912357a9a4606eddf/69ba1257aa73a66ed7042789

Story
Tyson is still very much a puppy at heart. He is goofy, playful, friendly, and always ready for someone to join him in the fun. He may come in a bigger package, but inside he is all wiggles, curiosity, and “wanna play?” energy.Tyson gets along with people and other dogs, and he would love a home where he has room to play, learn, and be part of the action. Because of his size and playful style, he may not be the best match for very tiny dogs without supervision, but he does enjoy canine friends who can handle his happy puppy enthusiasm. He is house trained, uses a doggie door, and sleeps quietly in his crate all night. During the day, he may protest the crate a little at first, but he does settle. Tyson is also very food motivated, which is great for training, though it does mean snacks left on counters may be considered a personal invitation.Tyson would do best with an active family who will keep working on his training, give him structure, and appreciate his big-hearted, silly personality. He is ready for a home that sees the gem underneath the goofy puppy packaging.Tyson is currently being fostered in Bryan, Texas, but don't let distance stop you. We offer nationwide transport to the nearest major city at no additional cost, making it easy for the right family to welcome her home, no matter where you live.Nationwide transport available, thanks to our Flight Transport partners with SWATT Transport and that flies in cabin with Southwest AirlinesDog adoptions are $250, and if you need nationwide transport, it's an extra $250 for the flight and all materials needed.
