Story
Buddy is our sweet, loving French Bulldog who has been nothing but joy to our family. It breaks our hearts to write this, but due to moving into a much smaller home, we can no longer give him the space and attention he deserves. Buddy’s favorite things in the world are cuddling on the couch, going on car rides, and being right by your side wherever you go. He is happiest when he’s close to his person and thrives on affection and companionship. Buddy does have a few special care needs. His nose and paws tend to dry out in the winter and do best with a little balm. His adorable squishy face should be gently cleaned each day to keep him comfortable. He sometimes breathes heavily, which is common for his breed, and he may throw up if he drinks his water too fast — slowing him down with smaller amounts helps a lot. We are looking for a loving home that will cherish him and continue the little routines he loves so much. Buddy has so much love to give and will make the perfect loyal companion

Story
Tito is a 1-year-old male Chihuahua with a sweet, shy soul and the most soulful ember-brown eyes. He’s a small-to-medium sized guy, about 15 lbs, making him a perfect compact companion.Tito is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He may be timid at first, but with patience, gentle encouragement, and consistency, his personality will slowly begin to shine. He would do best in a calm home with adopters who understand shy dogs and are committed to helping him build confidence at his own pace.Tito’s future family should be familiar with (or willing to learn about) the 3-3-3 Rule. First 3 days: A dog may feel overwhelmed, nervous, or unsure as they decompress.First 3 weeks: They begin to settle in, learn routines, and show more of their personality.First 3 months: Trust is built, confidence grows, and the dog truly starts to feel at home. With time, patience, and love, Tito has all the potential to become a loyal and devoted companion. If you’re looking for a gentle little dog to grow with and cheer on every step of the way, Tito might be your perfect match.

Story
Hi there! My name is Obi and I'm at the Santa Maria Campus. I am a 6 month old male chihuahua trying to find a new family! I am shy and hesitant to start off but with time, love and treats I will start to to warm up to you and be in your lap in no time! My brother is my comfort and we are a bonded pair! Adoptions are open 12pm-4:30pm every day, except Wednesdays, and no appointment is needed. Like all SBH animals, when I am adopted I will have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoptions also include a certificate for a complimentary post-adoption veterinary exam from a local clinic and our partners at Hills Science Diet will provide a supply of food for my first few days at home. Need some supplies? Both SB Humane Campuses have retail centers stocked with everything you need, at comparable prices, and your purchase helps support our mission. Hope to see you soon!
