🐶 Meet Leah (aka Leeloo) — A Lovable, Laid-Back Companion with a Big Heart
Leah—affectionately known as Leeloo—is a sweet Pug/Shih Tzu mix with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give. About 8½ years old and weighing around 15 pounds, she’s the perfect size for couch cuddles, quiet companionship, and leisurely strolls.
Leah came into her current home during a time of crisis for her previous family, who wanted to be sure she was safe and loved. She’s been cared for thoughtfully and kindly, and now her people are hoping to find her a home where she can receive even more attention, affection, and enrichment—because Leah truly thrives on being adored.
💕 Personality & Daily Life
Leah is very laid back, spends much of her day snoozing in her favorite spot, and lights up when it’s time for attention, belly rubs, or food. She’s incredibly food-motivated (cheese is her weakness!) and will happily cooperate with grooming or baths for the right snack.
She’s potty trained, crate trained, non-destructive when left alone, and generally very easy to live with. Leah sleeps in her crate at night and usually lets you know when she’s ready for bed. She loves walks but has a limit—once she’s done, she’ll let you know by sitting down to rest, so shorter, cooler walks are best.
🐾 With People & Other Pets
Leah loves people, does great with older children, and would likely be happiest in a home where she gets plenty of attention—perhaps with elementary-age kids or an adult looking for a devoted companion. She’s not a fan of being picked up and may yelp when surprised, so a home without toddlers would be ideal.
She’s very tolerant of cats and generally indifferent once the initial curiosity fades. With dogs, she may do well with a calm, respectful companion but is not a match for high-energy or rough play. Leah will assert her boundaries if needed but mostly just wants snacks and affection.
🩺 A Few Things to Know
• Leah may have mild hearing and vision changes, but she gets around just fine.
• She does best with soft or smaller kibble, as large dry food can be hard to chew.
• She needs regular grooming (about 3–4 times a year) to stay comfortable.
• Like many small dogs, she doesn’t tolerate heat well—cool weather and shady lounging are her jam.
• She sometimes snores (adorably).
• She’s a “marker” on walks and may stop often to sniff and pee.
🏡 Leah’s Ideal Home
Leah would love a home that offers:
• Calm companionship and lots of affection
• Short, mindful walks
• Respect for her boundaries (especially about being picked up)
• Someone who enjoys a sweet, low-key dog with personality
Leah still has plenty of life and love to give, and she’s ready to be someone’s cherished companion. If you’re looking for a lovable, snuggly, easygoing dog who just wants to be near her people, Leah (Leeloo) may be the perfect fit. 💗🐾
