Meet Mr. Tofu! Tofu came into rescue back in December of 2020. He was adopted and returned in December of 2023 because he thinks he is needs to an only child. Tofu is a beautiful boy who has social anxiety, hence his desire to have a home all to himself! After he realizes you are good people, he will come to you for pets and some lovin'. Tofu was rescued when he was about 5 months old from a feral colony and was not thriving in that environment. He was in a home with other cats, but those cats wanted to play, and Tofu was not having it. He became too stressed in that home and was placed in a foster home who also has other animals. We moved Tofu to a bedroom all to himself and he was much better. We don't want Tofu to be confined to a bedroom only and hope we can find home that prefers one cat only. He won't be a bother and will respect everyone's space! He basically needs a home to stay warm, well fed, and some occasional love. Sounds like the perfect roommate! Here are some words from his current foster: Tofu really enjoys company once he warms up to you. He loves being petted and will lay next to me while I am visiting with him. He loves the Delectables Squeeze Ups Treats and they are a great way to earn his trust. He will need a patient owner who will work with him and has the time to dedicate in order to earn that trust. He came to me as the most depressed cat I have ever seen and now he is very comfortable in my presences and doesn't try to hide from me."  What's his breed? We aren't entirely sure! We have heard Flame Point Ragdoll, Flame Point Himalayan Mix, Ragdoll Mix, and the list goes on! We just know he is cute as can be!  Now for the fine print: Because Tofu doesn't thrive in a home with other animals, he was put on some Gabapentin and Prozac to help his anxiety until he is placed in a home with no other animals. We don't anticipate Tofu staying on this for life, but until we can place him in a home with no other animals, we won't be able to say for sure. He is a lot happier and calm with the help of the medication. The rescue is willing to sponsor 6 months of medication if Tofu needs to remain on it. We hope this doesn't scare his forever home. He is a deserving boy, who just needs a little help.  Lets get this boy a home soon! He turns 4 years old in August and has plenty of life left to bring great companionship.  Tofu is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and FIV/FeLV tested (neg/neg). His adoption fee is $50.00.
